Welcome back to yet another edition of WWE Wrestler of the Week! Despite becoming number one contenders for the WWE tag team titles, the Usos have been outdone by a WWE superstar who is on his way to big things. Daniel Bryan won his feud with Randy Orton after closing the June 24th edition of Raw.
Bryan was finally able to score a victory over Orton using a kendo stick in his Yes/No lock in their street fight on Raw. I found it very interesting that WWE chose to end the show with Bryan and Orton.
John Cena addressed Mark Henry’s shocking fake retirement from last week. Did that end the show? NO! Bryan ended the show.
Not only did Bryan and Orton end SmackDown and Raw this week, but they began the shows as well. They had a face-to-face confrontation to start off SmackDown, while on Raw their double disqualification match was the first segment of Monday night. Bryan’s music was the first thing fans heard after Michael Cole’s welcoming.
This choice by the company proves that Bryan is headed to the main event. He and Kane were the most entertaining tag team in years and although he is working this program with Orton right now, it can only be a temporary story until he is pushed to the main event.
According to a report by WreslingInc.com, Bryan may win Money in the Bank and go on to face Cena for the WWE title at Summer Slam. The report also mentioned the idea of Bryan announcing his cash in. I think this would be a brilliant move. Rob Van Dam announced his cash in in advance and won.
Who announced their cash in in advance and lost? Oh, right. John Cena.
Bryan could get that push over Cena if he does this and wins. Bryan is the total package in the WWE. His wrestling skills make him popular among the fans of independent wrestling. His comedic humor and character make him popular among fans of the WWE product. If anyone is going to be put over by Cena and the WWE, Daniel Bryan is a great choice.
With less than three weeks remaining until Money in the Bank, Bryan needs to keep up this momentum. He will be in the WWE title Money in the Bank match with fellow all stars CM Punk, Kane, Orton, Sheamus, Christian and the returning Rob Van Dam. The only ones who should win this match are either Bryan or Punk. The others are big name stars that are not and should not be challenging for a world title right now.
