WWE WrestleMania 30 Predictions & Preview

In 1985, Vince McMahon Jr.’s idea of WrestleMania was born. Here we are, 29 years later for the 30th edition of the show of shows. WWE’s Super Bowl is once again upon us. The card is complete with seven matches plus the preshow contest. Thank goodness WWE didn’t leave the main event as Randy Orton against Batista. That would have been a huge disappointment. But will fans get what they want? Will Daniel Bryan leave New Orleans as WWE World Heavyweight Champion?

Here are my predictions for that match as well as the others on the card for WWE WrestleMania 30.

Pre Show: WWE Tag Team Champions the Usos vs. Real Americans vs. Los Matadores vs. Rybaxel

Although title matches during the preshow have a tendency to degrade the championship, this is the most appropriate one for it. The only other option would be the battle royal, but it needs to be on the main card in its debut in order to give it relevancy.

In any case, all of these tag teams were or are considered jobbers. I am a bit surprised that the Real Americans haven’t broken up yet to give Cesaro a nice singles push. Swagger and Cesaro are the only other ones aside from the champions who deserve this win. However, since I am more interested in Cesaro as a singles star at this point, I think it’s best for Usos to retain.

Prediction: The Usos retain

The Shield vs. Kane and the New Age Outlaws

For the second year in a row the Shield will face off against another trio at the show of shows. This time it is Attitude Era greats Kane and the New Age Outlaws. The Shield is another group (along with Real Americans) who seemed destined to split prior to Mania. WWE seemed to want to continue to capitalize on the Shield’s popularity and thus, they turned face instead of splitting. Ambrose still doesn’t cut it as a face for me. He’s too much of a good heel. Nonetheless, this is nothing more than a glorified squash match to give The Shield another good win at WrestleMania.

Prediction: The Shield wins

Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational

The interesting aspect of this big Divas title invitational match is that it is a one fall to the finish. The first Diva to score a pin will likely be declared the winner and champion.

I would have preferred a fatal four way match between AJ, Tamina, Natalya and Nikki Bella. They are the most likely to win this match too. If anyone other than those four win (unless it’s a returning star), I’d be shocked. I can’t seem to decide when the proper time for AJ to drop the title, as no one can match up to her in all aspects.

AJ should’ve won the divas title last year at WrestleMania and didn’t even get the chance until two months later. Therefore, I will say that WWE will give AJ her WrestleMania moment by retaining the divas title.

Prediction: AJ Lee retains

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

With 30 Superstars set to square off in a battle royal for the first ever Andre the Giant Memorial trophy, you would think it would be a difficult match to predict. Fortunately, the battle royal is full of enhancement talent and people on the roster WWE had nothing for.

There are three spots remaining and I truly believe one of them will win the match. One superstar in particular I think will take one of those spots and win. His name? Alexander Rusev. The NXT Bulgarian star was a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble and has appeared on Raw or Smackdown occasionally. He is the perfect fit for this win. He’s big and you know since the battle royal is named after a giant, someone large has to win.

Prediction: Alexander Rusev wins

John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt

WWE’s top dog in John Cena faces off against the next up and coming huge star in Bray Wyatt at the show of shows. I thought about the prediction for this match more than I expected. Does WWE let Cena get his revenge on Wyatt for costing him so many title matches? The loss for Wyatt wouldn’t do much as it’s not easy to defeat Cena. Then again, why does Cena need a win here? Wyatt is the newcomer who is being built to be the next Mankind or other strange character. I decided to lean towards the latter as Cena losing doesn’t hurt him as much as a Wyatt loss does for Bray.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt wins

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

The least interesting storyline to me is the Undertaker’s streak. At this point, it needs to end. The defending of the streak, not the streak itself. Hopefully, it gets defended one more time (against Sting) and then Undertaker should be done. Anyone who has at any point believed that Brock Lesnar will be the one to end the illustrious streak of the Undertaker is out of their mind. I am sure the match will be very entertaining with a lot of close calls, but the result is obvious.

Prediction: The Undertaker wins

Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H

Is there anyone who thinks Triple H will win this match? It would put such a damper on the rest of the night if the COO won. This is Bryan’s opportunity for revenge, as well as the Yes Movement to have their moment. Another big reason for a Bryan win is it allows him to get a win without winning the WWE World Heavyweight title (see below).

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton © vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan*

The only way I will be super surprised with the outcome of the WWE World Heavyweight title match is if Randy Orton retains. Bryan’s win would make sense as it would be the culmination of everything that has happened to the Flying Goat since SummerSlam. However, I don’t think Bryan wins the title. Eric has spoken time and time again about how Batista was clearly promised certain things when he returned to WWE. He may have been promised the Royal Rumble win and he may have been promised a WWE World Heavyweight title run. By having Bryan defeat Triple H, but lose in this match; the riots won’t be as big. WWE can argue that Bryan still won at WrestleMania, but not the title. Or maybe I am just hoping he wins the title when I am in attendance at Extreme Rules.

Prediction: Batista wins and becomes NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion
