WWE TLC 2012 PPV Card Rumors

WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs 2012 will act as a placeholder show before the company leaps head first into a giant 2013. The show only has one match officially announced, yet advertisements seem to be a good indicator of the event’s top three matches.

The first match officially announced was Sheamus vs. The Big Show in a Chairs Match for the WWE world heavyweight championship. The Chairs Match is basically a match in which using a chair is legal. The world heavyweight title will likely be the last in the Show vs. Sheamus series before the WWE moves to a new feud for 2013. Show won a Chairs Match last year at TLC against Mark Henry.

CM Punk vs. Ryback in a Tables Match is being advertised for the WWE championship in the New York market. I am a bit surprised that they are continuing the Ryback vs. Punk feud. I expected Ryback to jump into a situation or match with the three new wrestlers from NXT. It is a lot to ask of fans to pay to see a third title match between two guys that just had screw finishes. At this point a fan is in the hole $100, $50 more if they want to see this one. I don’t think anyone believes for a second that Ryback is beating Punk right now so this is going to be a tricky sell.

John Cena will bring his faux injured angle into Brooklyn, NY and take on Dolph Ziggler in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match between the 2012 Money in the Bank winners. I have mixed feelings on this one here. I think it’ll be a great match, most Ziggler matches are. However, I think they really need to continue Ziggler’s momentum en route to the world title. That isn’t to say that Ziggler is definitely going to lose here, but chances are pretty good he will. At the same time you really need to keep Cena strong going into WrestleMania. I like the match I am just not sure the timing works here.

If you look at last year’s lineup I’d certainly say that this show is a boost from TLC 2011. Even with the early predictions here I would not be shocked to see some kind of a swerve. I just don’t know if Ryback challenging for the WWE title is even marketable at this point. He had a shot in both a Hell in a Cell and Triple Threat Match and got screwed. I think even the biggest Punk haters expect him to walk into the Royal Rumble as champion at this stage of the game.

We’ll have more to come in the upcoming weeks. Come back on December 16 for full results and reports.
