WWE Superstar Triple H Announces Retirement After Battling Viral Pneumonia

Triple H, as interesting as his name the famous wrestler has always entertained us for more than 30 years. Now, he has announced his retirement while talking to Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s first take, saying his time in the ring is over.

While talking to Stephen he said “I won’t – I would never wrestle again. First, I have a defibrillator in my chest. Which, it’s probably not a good idea for me to get zapped on live TV.”

Actually, last September, ‘The Game’, which Triple H is also known as, suffered from a cardiac arrest which went pretty severe. His condition was life-threatening and there were chances of him not making it. But the superstar defeated the odds, as he always does, and lived to share the experience with us.

He shared that because of pneumonia his heart and lungs got filled with some fluid. A normal heart ejection fraction deals at 55-60 percent but H’s percentages were as low as 12.

H told Stephen, “By the time I got to the emergency room, my ejection fraction had gone down to 22, which, I was in heart failure. Bad. By the next morning – as they figured that out that evening – by the next morning as they got the MRI done and they were sending me in for a heart scan. My ejection fraction was down to 12. So, I was nosediving and sort of at the one-yard line of where you want to be – or where you don’t want to be, really, for your family and your future.”

This is really upsetting that this generation will not see him fight in the ring. We all can get inspired by his story of dedication, hard work, and persistently beating the odds and his opponents. Paul Michael Levesque, AKA Triple H, AKA ‘The Game’, started his professional wrestling training in 1990. After a lot of grinding, he started his career in 1992 by joining the International Wrestling Federation (IWF), as the stage name Terra Ryzing, and then he also got joined the World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

But the real story began when Levesque, in 1995, repackaged and signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now known as WWF. He entered WWF as Hunter Hearst Helmsley, which later got renamed as the Triple H.

Now, let’s talk about this legend’s career, Triple H has been a five-time Intercontinental Champion, a three-time world tag champion. He has been a two-time European Champion and holds an unbelievable record for being a fourteen-time World Champion. And very clearly these victories are just the highlights, he has won the Royal Rumble twice, a King of Ring tournament, been the company’s seventh Triple Crown champion and second Grand Slam champion.

These awards are just some of the reasons why the superstar’s resignation shook the internet.
