WWE Superstar Collection Daniel Bryan DVD Review

WWE Superstar Collection: Daniel BryanFort those of you that might not be aware (and considering that there has been no publicity for these, that’s most of you), WWE has started releasing what they call the “Superstar Collection” series of DVDs. These are single-disc DVD sets that focus on one superstar or tag team in particular.

Each of these sets only clocks in at about 90 minutes a piece, giving you just a taste of the career in question. Several of these have already come out, for stars like John Cena and Zack Ryder, and former World Champion Daniel Bryan is the latest to be added to the collection.

Although this DVD is pretty bare bones, you could do a lot worse. The five matches contained in the set are all pretty good. We start with Bryan’s first televised match of his WWE career, losing to Chris Jericho on the first episode of the first season of NXT. You also get him defeating the Miz for the United States Championship at Night of Champions 2010, which was a great match and pretty much makes this disc worthwhile. The third match is his MITB win from last year, a match against Mark Henry, and the 3-way cage match from this year’s Royal Rumble.

And that is it. Like I said, it’s a pretty bare-bones set, kind of reminiscent of some of the old WWF Coliseum tapes. However, considering that these DVDs are sold at a discounted price compared to other DVDs, and it IS dedicated to Daniel Bryan, you could do a lot worse. If you’re a hardcore Bryan fan, then you’ll probably want to add this set, but it’s not something you’d likely go out of your way to get your hands on otherwise. For those of you on a budget, there’s really not too much to complain about. It’s by no means a bad set, just short (as are the rest in the series).
