WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Thoughts

The other night watching the Royal Rumble, the fans made sure to let their voices known about some of the stuff that they were seeing in the ring such as the match with Randy Orton and John Cena, the Royal Rumble itself and also seeing Batista win the Royal Rumble as well. While watching the show and seeing that Twitter was basically erupting and nearly crashing with everyone going crazy on how bad the whole show was, I noticed that I need to talk about a couple of things regarding the whole show which will lead to my first ever opinion blog for Camel Clutch. Please be advised that this is my first opinion blog that I’m doing here and these are just my views on certain stuff regarding what I stated above.

Randy Orton vs. John Cena’s match was like watching paint dry and I kind of feel the pain of everyone that was in the crowd that had to watch this match. I jokingly said on my twitter account that they should start a “We want Meagan” Chant because I would bring more entertainment then the both of them. Over the past couple of years, Randy Orton going against John Cena has been outplayed too many times here and I really think that was one of the reasons why the Pittsburgh crowd let their voices known. The only good thing that happened in the match was Randy Orton working the crowd and getting them worked up even more, but the rest from there went down hill until the Wyatt’s came out and cost John Cena the match along with another shot at history. I was relieved that it was over and that it was time to move on from this whole situation and let John Cena lay low for the title.

The Royal Rumble match was the one match I was looking forward to which the surprises, but not the rumored winner was going to be, however, my eyes were glued on the numbers the most to actually see if Daniel Bryan was going to be in the rumble despite reports not being in. I was in a twitter pool, with my number being 30 (I wanted to play it safe just in case) as well as my forum’s Royal Rumble game where my numbers were 10, 17, 21 and 27. My picks were decent as the surprise return I got was Sheamus coming back. Glad to see Sheamus come back after some serious surgery on his shoulder, but the numbers were closing in. When number 30 was about to come up and seeing that I was the only one left. I was really disappointed with the person I got, but was happy when he was eliminated in the ring. I also feel that some of the spots like JBL and El Torito were wasted on having Daniel Bryan to be in this match, especially seeing a bull for child entertainment being in this match.

Batista winning the Royal Rumble had me really disappointed as well, but then with news reports these days and reporting who is going to win the match, it was expected. Remember back in the day before we had twitter and facebook, we would predict to see who would the winner of the Royal Rumble would be before stuff online would come out, though I really thought after the show went off the air was really disrespectful and messed up how he got in the face of a fan and flipped the fan off. I don’t like Batista for many of reasons and I really don’t know why to this day, that my mom roots for him (That’s another story, but she will see the light). I think that punishment should happen, but then again, I don’t see it happening. I wished someone else like Roman Reigns could’ve won the Royal Rumble, but then again, I didn’t see it coming as well. I feel like WWE has a weak main event going into Wrestlemania season because with a hostile crowd coming in, this match is going to be the fans voices and how they feel about this.

So that’s what I have to say on this whole situation. Like I said before, these are just my opinions I had on this. I want to know what you guys thought of the Royal Rumble and leave some of your opinions about it below.
