WWE Releasing The Very Best of the Clash of the Champions DVD

the hollywood blondesAccording to Amazon.com the WWE will be releasing another WCW themed DVD this coming May. The Very Best of the Clash of the Champions compilation is already available for pre-order with a run time of a whopping 540 minutes.

I am not sure whether to get excited or proceed with caution on the news. The old school fan in me wants to get excited about reliving some great memories as a fan on DVD. However, the realist in me tells me that this DVD will probably a mix of both great matches and average moments as is the case with most WCW DVD releases.

There is some tremendous potential here with the Clash of the Champions compilation. I’ll be the first one to tell you that there were some horrific Clash of the Champions broadcasts I watched over the years. At the same time, there are plenty of gems that took place on these TBS broadcasts that have never made it to home video.

PWInsider.com reports that former WCW and Jim Crockett Promotions booker Dusty Rhodes will get the hosting duties, although quite honestly Dusty didn’t take part in a whole lot of Clash shows. However, Dusty is credited with creating the Clash so it does make sense.

No details other than the release date and run time have been released. However, I put together something of a “dream list” of matches that I would love to see pop up on the video. Once again this is nothing official, just a wish list from yours truly.
