WWE Night Of Champions 2013 Shaping Up To Be A Big Hit

Now that part of the cat is out of the bag, the WWE is in good position to score major points and further its momentum with Night of Champions.

According to WrestleZone.com, there are seven matches in the works for the big night at Joe Louis Arena with the possibility of more to come.

Because SummerSlam was so great and the new path the company is taking is a stroke of brilliance, anything less than success and a sold “B” will be considered a failure.

How do you like them apples, Stephanie McMahon?

The WWE and its fans have waited over a year for a pay-per-view to provide as much drama and success as SummerSlam, that it must now capitalize on the potential pay-per-view boon.

If these seven matches are as great as possibly advertised, then kudos to the WWE for a job well done.

Here are my thoughts on a few of these “potential” matches…

Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE TITLE MATCH)

I am not sure how Bryan gets a rematch in this one (while he says he is owed one). This was an impromptu match which resulted in his loss. And remember, it was just for the good of the WWE and for business.

I think these kinds of feuds can only result in an outstanding match or a total failure. In this case it is an outstanding match with potential for greatness.

This is one match that makes me scratch my head. Punk does not need the Intercontinental Title) and Axel forever how solid he is in the ring, he is never going to be as good as his father, Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig.

The best way I see this is Punk brings credibility to a stumbling belt and Axel hasn’t gotten over with the fans, so he still needs a push.

Punk does this in most of his matches.

Rob Van Dam with Ricardo Rodriguez vs. Alberto Del Rio (WORLD TITLE MATCH)

If there is going to be a match that provides a swerve in it, this might be the one.

While Van Dam is not the most graceful on the microphone, Rodriguez looks almost flamboyant in the way he speaks with Van Dam around. It’s odd and a sure fire way to make the fans think someone is on the take.

I like the potential of this match up with contrasting styles. But to make it more interesting, could Rodriguez be the one to turn on his current client? If so, it gives this potentially boring feud a little more oxygen.

Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler (UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH)

This could be the best match of the night if Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow are not added to the mix. I think the WWE would be doing a fine job of promoting this match if it started now. Ambrose has no contender now and Big E. Langston is just bringing Ziggler down.

This is a match that could very well be as high flying as anything we have seen this year so far.

Big Show and Mark Henry vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH)

First off, if anyone does a better promo and vignette like the Shield, then someone please tell me.

Big Show may have said he and Henry were going to face The Shield, but when Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins called them out Friday night, it was another classic done right.

I would love to guarantee a win by the two biggest wrestlers in the world, but The Shield is part of the corporation and well, they may have the same issues The Steiners did in beating the NWO.
