WWE Hell In A Cell 2013 Predictions and Preview

WWE fans have been unhappy with the results of the past few pay-per-view events, but the company hopes that will change this Sunday at Hell in a Cell 2013. The WWE Championship should finally be decided between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan, while John Cena returns early from injury to try to bring relevancy to the World Heavyweight title. Just as I do each and every month, I will break down each match and give my predictions for the big event.

[adinserter block=”1″](Pre-Show) Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel © vs. Big E Langston

Two of the younger stars in WWE will square off for the midcard title during the preshow when Curtis Axel defends against Big E Langston. I am very intrigued by the Langston face turn, but I am hesitant to think that he will win the title this quickly.

I think Axel’s time as Intercontinental Champion should come to an end soon. I also like the idea of the Langston taking over the midcard. Axel is still very boring even with Paul Heyman. He makes a good henchman, but he’s never going to go farther than where he is right now. I expect Axel to win this match, but to continue the feud with Langston.

Prediction: Curtis Axel retains

Los Matadores vs. The Real Americans

This was a feud that most fans were expected to happen at some point. It could have had more build on TV, but I can almost guarantee we will see it again the next night on Raw. It is also great to see Los Matadores in a match with someone other than 3MB.I mean, seriously, how many times must we see the same match?

In any case, as much as I like the Real Americnas as a tag team, you can’t have Los Matadores lose this early on in their new gimmick’s career.

Prediction: Los Matadores win

Divas Championship: AJ Lee © vs. Brie Bella

Brie Bella is somehow getting another title shot against AJ Lee at Hell in a Cell. With Nikki Bella returning from injury recently, I would have preferred WWE to have changed things up. Regardless, AJ should not lose the title to either Bella. I am still waiting for AJ to feud with Natalya, but I know WWE loves to promote the Bellas so I am not surprised with the choice. I also love the addition of Tamina Snuka as AJ’s bodyguard. Perfect role for Tamina. It makes me wonder if Tamina and AJ’s relationship will one day become like Shawn Michaels and Diesel.

Prediction: AJ Lee retains

WWE Tag Team Championship: Cody Rhodes and Goldust © vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. The Usos

I don’t think anyone would have been surprised if the Rhodes brothers squared off against The Shield’s Rollins and Reigns without any Usos. This makes me think that either the Usos are winning or taking the pin. With the Rhodes brothers and Shield at a higher level on the card than the Usos, I will go with the latter.

The Usos will add even more excitement to this match as they often do and I expect this match to be the most impressive. Having The Shield win here by pinning the Usos, it will allow the Rhodes brothers to get one more opportunity at the titles and continue the feud.

Prediction: Rollins and Reigns become NEW WWE Tag Team Champions by pinning one of the Usos

CM Punk vs. Ryback and Paul Heyman (Handicap Hell in a Cell match)

Is anyone else really bored of the Punk-Heyman feud? While Punk and Heyman are both great on the mic, their feud is meaningless. It has dragged on long enough and I don’t see how it is benefiting anyone. Punk has been irrelevant since he lost to Undertaker at WrestleMania. I don’t care who wins, as long as it ends the feud.

On a side note, I do like how Punk and Ryback squared off last year at Hell in a Cell, expect this time Heyman is in Ryback’s corner. Other than that, it doesn’t matter.

If Ryback and Heyman win, will Punk stop going after Heyman? Probably not. If Punk wins, will Heyman quit going after Punk? Possibly. So I will go with that outcome.

Prediction: CM Punk wins

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio © vs. John Cena

I saw a meme recently on Facebook that read “that awkward moment when you want John Cena to win.” That is exactly how I feel. The only superstar I can think of that I should lose more than Cena is Del Rio. The idea of Cena actually does a lot of good.

It gets the belt off Alboring Del Rio. It keeps Cena away from the WWE title and brings prestige and important to the World Heavyweight title that I don’t think we have seen since Edge was champion. In fact, if Cena becomes World Heavyweight Champion, I am hoping it will be for a bigger plan.

If Cena wins the world title, could we see a unification of the two big titles down the road? I hope so. Ever since the brand split ended, there has been no point to the big gold belt and its importance has only decreased.

I can’t believe I am saying this, but let’s hope Cena wins.

Prediction: John Cena becomes NEW World Heavyweight Champion

WWE Championship: Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan (Hell in a Cell match with special guest referee Shawn Michaels)

Here is another feud that I think should end here. The only thing worse than continuous pay-per-views with no endings, is a never ending feud. It’s time for the WWE title to not only be about Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. Luckily, Survivor Series is the next big event so the championship may not even be defended next month.

Now the question is who gets the belt. With Shawn Michaels as referee, does he help his protégé Bryan? Or does he turn on Bryan? Or does he call it down the middle?

I can see a scenario where Triple H begins to feud with HBK for allowing Bryan to win the title. However, Michaels has always said he is done wrestling and I actually believe him.

Having Michaels help Bryan is too obvious. I think HBK calls it down the middle and Bryan wins fair and square. Triple H could still be mad at HBK and blame him even though it wasn’t his fault.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan becomes NEW WWE Champion

[adinserter block=”2″]Looking at all of these matches, the WWE title and CM Punk matches are the ones I am least confident about. It’s hard to say when Bryan will be champion, but with Raw and Smackdown looking the same each week, it would be great to see the Authority trying to get the belt off of Bryan rather than keeping him from winning it. As I said about Punk, WWE needs to move on from his feud with Heyman and do something different.

  1. I think that some how the big show will be the next WWE champion that is why HHH is trying to build up the big show to be the face of the WWE
