Why Is ‘Promised Land’ Cancelled By ABC After One Season?

Is ABC canceling or renewing the Promised Land TV program for a second season? The issues of the Sandoval family do not appear to be receiving a second season. The Promised Land TV series will be canceled after the fifth episode next week.

Why Is the show getting canceled?

The news is hardly unexpected. Promised Land, which began in January, was ABC’s least-watched and lowest-rated scripted series this season, and the network yanked it from the schedule after five episodes, with the remaining 10 episodes available only on Hulu.

Promised Land premiered with a 0.2 demo rating and 1.86 million viewers in Live+Same Day, but despite positive reviews from reviewers, the series never acquired a large audience. What’s the Show About?

The plot centers around two Latinx families in California’s Sonoma Valley who are competing for wealth and power. Joe Sandoval (Ortiz) is the patriarch of his family, having turned Heritage Vineyard, a modest vineyard owned by a former adversary, into a wine and beverage empire.

He alienated many people along the road, including members of his own family. Joe is more than just a shrewd corporate fighter; he can handle any work on a vineyard, but he finds himself at a fork in the road when an old foe reappears. Lettie (Suarez), his wife, will go to any length to keep her family together, despite their tangled ties.

Their kids are strong individuals. Veronica (Ochoa), Antonio (Tonatiuh), Carmen (Molino), Junior (Garcia), the insecure Junior (Garcia), and Mateo (Aguilera), the vineyard’s hardworking and competent general manager. Carlos Velez, Billy Chusan, Juana Martin, and Rosa Guerrero, meantime, cross the Mexican border in search of a better life.

Matt Lopez, director Michael Cuesta, Adam Kolbrenner, and Maggie Malina were among the executive producers. Michael Cuesta, the executive producer, also directs. Produced by ABC Signature.

What’s Next For The Show?

It’s a sad hour in Promised Land: ABC has canceled the wine-soaked Latino serial due to low ratings. Following the airing of Episode 5, the show will be canceled by ABC. The final five episodes of Promised Land will be available exclusively on Hulu.

Promised Land’s first five episodes averaged a 0.19 rating. While these figures do not account for additional delayed or streamed viewing, they are a good estimate of how well a show is doing, especially when compared to other shows on the same channel.

Other economic considerations may influence a show’s destiny, although in general, higher-rated programs are renewed while lower-rated shows are canceled. See how Promised Land compares to other ABC television series.

The tale centers around a large generations gap drama involving two Latino families arguing for riches and power in California’s Sonoma Valley in the English series Promised Land. Matt Lopez, the creator of “Promised Land,” has premiered his new drama on the ABC network, which will last for 44 minutes.

Every moment passes without disclosure or, at the very least, dramatic music, which is expected soon. Although the cast has dispersed, the ABC network will still be referenced before the show’s launch on Monday.
