NFL Week 2 can be clearly defined as the first week in the NFL where there were upsets. Let’s start with what is probably the biggest upset of the week; the New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots. Prior to this victory the last time the Jets beat the Patriots at the Meadowlands was in 2000. It has been a long 8 years in the AFC East for the Jets and Rex Ryan has the NFL and the Jets fans believing in this team.

The 2nd big upset was the Chicago Bears defeating the defend World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Nobody saw this coming after a loss to Green Bay and losing Brian Urlacher for the season many people wrote this franchise off for the season. Despite a horrible Week 1 performance Jay Cutler played much better and showed people why he is consider a Top 5 Quarterback in the NFL. Interesting to see in Week 3 if we get the Week 2 Jay Cutler or the Week 1 Jay Cutler.

Then the 3rd upset of the week came at the hands of the Houston Texans who have now suddenly put the Tennessee Titans backs up against the wall at a 0-2 record. Matt Schaub showed people why he was a Top 5 Fantasy Quarterback this season and Andre Johnson made a great case for the best Wide Receiver in the game. Despite losing it goes without saying how well of game Chris Johnson had for the Titans. Whether he was running the ball or catching the ball, he single handily kept the Titans in the game.

Finally the last real upset that I saw in Week 2 was the Cincinnati Bengals defeating the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The big news coming from that game was Chad Ocho Cinco doing the Lambeau Leap into a group of Bengals fans, a total disrespect to the Green Bay tradition. It appears the Packers are still getting used to Dom Capers 3-4 defense after allowing them to score 31 points. The Bengals needed this win and Carson Palmer needed it even more. The Bengals could be a surprise team in the AFC if Carson Palmer stays healthy.

And now onto my Week 3 predictions:

Falcons over Patriots
Jets over Titans
Ravens over Browns
Lions over Redskins
Packers over Rams
Eagles over Chiefs
Giants over Buccaneers
49ers over Vikings
Texans over Jaguars
Bears over Seahawks
Saints over Bills
Steelers over Bengals
Dolphins over Chargers
Raiders over Broncos
Cardinals over Colts
Cowboys over Panthers

Week 2 Record: 10-6

2009 Record: 22-9
