The constant threats that were posed by the Russia-Ukraine war are seen to be emerging constantly. Days after Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Russia about a nuclear attack, Moscow has itself released footage of a 7000 km missile. Russia has unveiled scary new footage of its 7,000mph Zircon hypersonic bomb missile that could target London in five minutes.
The lethal weapon, which can carry either a conventional or nuclear bomb, was previously dubbed “unstoppable” by the Kremlin. The deadly weapon can also pose an immense and immediate threat to the whole European Union at large. The world is already on a brink of world war 3 as Russia has attacked Ukraine weeks ago.
The tussle between the two countries is still going on and no signs of de-escalation are visible. Amidst all this chaos Russia’s footage releasing can worsen the case even more. The war between the two countries is getting exacerbated day by day through several instances. Two days before only, a US Journalist was also killed by forces in Ukraine while reporting.
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this new missile is their biggest power and is used for our sea and land targets. This also deduces that Russia is heading towards more repressive measures rather than just de-escalating the tension. And now new footage shows a Mach 9 Zircon (or Tsirkon) missile being fired, demonstrating Putin’s ability to conduct a hypersonic nuclear assault on the West.
In veiled threats to go nuclear, Putin and his top officials have threatened to go nuclear if any country interferes with his invasion of Ukraine. While the video was just published, it was likely shot in December and kept hidden to chill the West. Putin had claimed a salvo launch, but no video was published.
When pressed on Ukraine, Russia has warned the West of “untold repercussions.” Putin warned of “consequences that you have never encountered in your history” on February 24, implying a nuclear strike. Fears of a nuclear confrontation grew when Putin placed his nuclear troops on high alert.
Lord West, the former head of the Royal Navy, claimed one “miscalculation” might launch a war in Europe, leading to a nuclear-armed global conflict. Russian forces stepping into Nato territory might start a nuclear war, according to ex-Nato Deputy Supreme Allied Commander for Europe General Sir Adrian Bradshaw.
Despite Zelensky’s pleadings, the West has not implemented a no-fly zone for fear of provoking Putin. Putin targeted a military installation near the Polish border over the weekend, moving the fight closer to NATO. Talking about some advanced features of the missile it has been reported that the Zircon has been heralded as Putin’s weapon of choice to destroy American cities in atomic war.
Its range has been estimated at 650 miles, however, Krohmal claims it can hit targets at 930 miles. It will be launched from Russian frigates and afterward submarines.
