Unlock Shaq in UFC Undisputed Video and Achievements

Shaq UFCI posted a blog last week about unlocking Shaq in UFC Undisputed 2010. I have received a ton of emails since the blog with further questions about unlocking Shaq Fu. Well fear not, as I came across this great video tutorial on how to unlock Shaq in UFC Undisputed 2010.

In addition to the video tutorial on unlocking Shaq, I also came across a ton of UFC Undisputed 2010 achievements and trophies. If you are like me, you really don’t have a lot of time to spend on the career mode. I like to shoot for achievements and trophies outside of the career mode just to have something to play for other than exhibition wins. Check out the Xbox 360 and PS3 list below, followed by the Shaq video tutorial to take your game to another level in UFC Undisputed 2010.

While I won’t go until a full review of the game, I just wanted to give some early thoughts on UFC Undisputed 2010. Overall I am satisfied, but I am not as ecstatic about it as some people. Here are just a few quick thoughts of UFC Undisputed 2010 after several hours of play.

– I love the new tournament mode. I have always liked to play tournaments in other fighting games, so I was real disappointed when UFC Undisputed 2009 didn’t have the option. The results of sim games are also pretty realistic which is nice.
– I have found myself playing the UFC Undisputed 2010 Event Mode more than anything else. The event mode allows you to put together a number of matches and make an entire UFC card. I love this because while I don’t have the time to get into a career, sometimes I have an hour or so I want to kill playing the game. It was really a pain in the butt in the last version to play an exhibition match and have to go back three or four menus to make another match. Here you make a few matches and you are set for awhile. On top of that, the game gives you pre-fight videos in the intro of the main and co-main event which is very cool.
– Unfortunately, I get bored with the game pretty quick. There are a few more things you can do this year like fighting against the cage, but overall most of the guys have similar moves. I sit down all hyped to play and after a few fights I am bored. I try and extend the fights by going to the ground and ground and pounding for awhile but it gets old to me quick.
– The submissions are much improved. I was done in UFC Undisputed 2009 if I got caught in a submission. This year’s version really does allow for easier escapes, especially if your stamina is high. I got caught once early with full stamina, but it was by BJ Penn who is superior in the game.
– I was a bit disappointed that the game doesn’t allow you to use CAF fighters from UFC Undisputed 2009.
– There were a ton of technical glitches on opening day. The Game Stop exclusive DLC code wasn’t working, some consoles were locking up on the start screen, and there were lags in some fighters specifically Clay Guida. From what I can see on my game and reading some boards, it looks like a lot of those problems have been resolved.
– It is amazing to me that there are still major lag issues with online play of UFC Undisputed. This was a huge problem last year. I tried playing online a few times last year and finally gave up after a few frustrating matches with serious lag play. I never experience these kinds of lag issues with my EA Sports online games. It is really disappointing that THQ has yet to resolve this. It is downright disgraceful that they would actually charge someone $5 to play such a buggy online mode.
– There continue to be a lot of problems with the online registration code. THQ included a code that users have to register in order to play UFC Undisputed 2010 online. This caused a lot of confusion because unless you were a diehard gamer who reads blogs and forums, you didn’t know this. The code is small and tucked away on the back of the UFC Undisputed 2010 manual. It got even more confusing because if you loaded the game without the code you were given a message about needing to buy UFC DLC (a code to play online). Even I who knew about the code almost bought the DLC, because I had no idea what the DLC was and figured it may have been new fighters, new options, etc. Instead, a message notifying users to input a code found on the back of the book to play online should have appeared with an option to buy a code for gamers without one. I figured it out, but I wonder how many casual kids and families got suckered into the $5 without even realizing it. These codes can get real tricky for someone who isn’t real familiar with the process.
