UFC Undisputed 2010 Available Today!

UFC Undisputed 2010The UFC Undisputed 2010 video game finally hits retailers today. After months of previews and teasers, UFC Undisputed 2010 is finally available for all consoles. Arguably the most anticipated video game of 2010 hits the streets today and the debate is now underway whether UFC Undisputed lives up to the hype or is a disappointment.

Unfortunately due to a crazy schedule this week I probably won’t even have time to pick up my reserved UFC Undisputed 2010 from Game Stop for a few days. In the meantime I have played the demo on Xbox 360. My first impressions were huge disappointment. Quite frankly, I found myself playing the demo a few times and then just switching back to UFC Undisputed 2009. I am sure there are a ton more options available in the actual UFC Undisputed 2010 retail game than the demo, but I found the demo rather boring.

I am excited to load up a ton of new fighters to the franchise. Guys like Kimbo Slice, Dan Hardy, and even legends like Royce Gracie and Dan Severn make their debuts (unfortunately the legends are a PS3 exclusive at this point in time). Other new features include a more robust career mode, tournaments (which greatly excite me), a redesigned training camp mode, and more standup options such as using the cage.

I blogged about the full UFC Undisputed 2010 roster a couple of weeks ago. At first glance, it looked like the game included all of the UFC superstars other than Randy Couture who is under contract to EA Sports. However, a closer look reveals some mysterious disappearances most notably Wanderlei Silva. However, it has since been confirmed that Wanderlei Silva is indeed in UFC Undisputed 2010. UFC Undisputed 2010 must have been a glimpse into the future of Paul Daley because he remains off of the game and was recently cut from the UFC.

THQ recently revealed that the UFC Undisputed 2010 online mode will be locked. Gamers will need a code that comes with the game in order to play online. Used UFC Undisputed 2010 owners will need to pay a $5 fee to unlock the mode unless the previous owner didn’t use it. The move has generated a ton of controversy in the gaming community. The fee is $5 less than what EA Sports will be charging for used game owners to use the upcoming online mode for Tiger Woods PGA 11. The move will allow THQ to capitalize on used video game sales of UFC Undisputed 2010 and is the first big strike against the used gaming industry.

Regardless, UFC Undisputed 2010 is finally here but it won’t be the last MMA game of the year. EA Sports is expected to release their MMA video game in the fall. Check back soon for any UFC Undisputed 2010 cheats and achievements.
