The first official UFC Undisputed 3 game trailer has hit the net. Watch the video and take a first look at the next UFC video game set to hit stores in January. The new Pride mode is prominently featured in the trailer.
Gamers can get a nice sneak peek at the retro Pride fighters in the Undisputed trailer. Rampage Jackson, Shogun Rua, and Chuck Liddell are featured in Pride fights. Rampage in particular is featured in his old red, white, and blue trunks he wore in his Pride FC days. The mode looks pretty cool and definitely has me enticed to buy the game.
When THQ and the UFC debuted the UFC Undisputed 2010 trailer in 2009 it featured Kimbo Slice at the end. There aren’t a whole lot of shocking fighters in the trailer, other than what appears to be Nick Diaz (fighting BJ Penn). I was hoping the trailer would end with either Randy Couture or Fedor Emelianenko in the octagon but no dice. I think that is the next big announcement to come with the game. Diaz is now technically a UFC fighter so I wouldn’t read into that. I would expect THQ or the UFC to address Strikeforce’s involvement in the game at some point.
UFC president Dana White made an appearance at E3 today. White announced that UFC content will be coming directly to the Xbox 360. UFC pay per views in particular will be available for purchase on the X Box. Say what you will about Dana White but he and the UFC have certainly been progressive in embracing new technology and media. The UFC’s partnership with Microsoft is just another step in that direction.
