UFC 116: Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin Trailer Released

Brock LesnarI have to admit that I have been hesitant about getting exciting for Brock Lesnar’s next fight. For almost a year, every time Lesnar’s next fight inches closer it gets canceled. Well, the UFC must feel pretty confident because they have released the official Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin UFC 116 trailer and I am hyped!

I feel as if I have previewed this fight about five times over the last year between writing about scheduling and cancellations. But, I will say that this fight has the potential to break the box office. The appeal of Brock Lesnar is that he looks indestructible. The problem with Brock Lesnar is that he looks indestructible. Finally it looks like the UFC has a contender that fans can believe in.

The UFC 116 trailer is fantastic. In 30 seconds, the trailer does a great job of making you believe that this will be the ultimate UFC heavyweight fight. Unfortunately the trailer is also not very accurate when hyping Shane Carwin. The trailer states that all of Shane Carwin’s wins have come via knockout. That isn’t true. Five of his 12 wins came via submission. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a great UFC fight right?

UFC 116 takes place July 3…I hope!
