Could the best move for business be more of a throwback to what worked in the past between Randy Orton and Triple H? Could the COO of the WWE be the one who will take the Unified WWE World Title from The Viper? It is more of a possibility I think than we give the WWE credit for hiding from.
[adinserter block=”1″]This is just one idea I have been kicking around on scenarios that could make the company a lot more interesting.
The WWE is now practically forced to entertain the idea of Orton, John Cena and Daniel Bryan in the main event match at the Royal Rumble, but Orton will retain the title. The company needs Orton to have a long reign as champion where he turns away all comers (Cena, Bryan, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes) but in the meantime, the structure of the Authority becomes fractured and Triple H, as the leader of the company, challenges Orton in a shocking move.
It could come in the form of Triple H winning the Royal Rumble – a move that would first be welcomed by Orton because he would be “protected” by the first family of wrestling. Ultimately, The Authority pulls a fast on Orton.
This also adds to the idea of Cena and Undertaker in New Orleans next year. What the company decides to do with Bryan is anyone’s guess, but a program with Dean Ambrose after The Shield splits is well worth an investment of time.
Here are some other ideas that could add new life to the WWE and the new year.
Drew McIntyre on his own
I still kick around the idea that Drew McIntyre has a career as a singles competitor in the WWE – this time with William Regal as his manager. I am also in favor of another stable with McIntyre, Sheamus and Wade Barrett with Regal outside the ring. The belief by myself is that McIntyre could be the man to shake up the mid card and for his size, he could own Main Event and SmackDown.
Shake up the tag teams
There might actually be too many tag teams in the WWE right now.
I never thought I would say that, but it’s true.
What does the company do to fix this? How about split the Prime Time Players? Titus O’Neal may be the most gifted athlete in the WWE. The Tag team of O’Neal and Darren Young has been good, but since Abraham Washington was released by the company, they really haven’t gone anywhere. O’Neal should be a prime time player in the singles ranks.
Other changes that could make things more interesting is push Wade Barrett toward Zeb Coulter, Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger. Something has to be done with The Funkadactyls and make shift teams that are put together.
The team of Ryback and Curtis Axel should remain together, but they need a manager of some sort, like Vicki Guerrero.
I like the team of Mark Henry and E Langston, but there is also an idea that Henry should be included in the World Title picture. That still may happen.
And we have not even gotten to the miserable situation with the WWE Divas and the need for a new Trish Stratus. Eve where are you when we need you?
[adinserter block=”2″]So while the WWE is kicking around new ideas to make improvements and opening Christmas presents this week, the company is about to undergo major changes. These moves will effect everything up until WrestleMania. They must be swift, affirmative and thought out. Anything else makes the potential for a feud between the boss and his employee not worth the thought of it in the first place.
