The Shield Rules the WWE

Now that Roman Reigns is the number one contender to Seth Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship, what does the future hold? Does Reigns win the title at Survivor Series? I don’t think that would be the best idea. Reigns needs a slow burn to winning the title at a later date. Here’s my prediction for how this all plays out.

[adinserter block=”1″]It will be Rollins vs Reigns at Survivor Series on November 22nd and Reigns will not win the title that night. We’ll get the much desired Dean Ambrose heel turn costing Reigns the title. This works because it gets Ambrose in the main event conversation where he belongs and he’ll immediately become one of the top heels in the company. This will create more sympathy for Reigns which will build his baby face heat. Because of the interference by Ambrose, Rollins will retain the title in typical Rollins fashion. Ambrose the heel sounds like an amazing character and someone the fans will love to hate. It also allows him to finally be the Lunatic Fringe and really take his craziness to another level.

The Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view will be up next. Now this is where things could get interesting. Do they do the Shield triple threat TLC match or do they wait till WrestleMania to make that match happen? This is my world and you’re just livin’ in it, so that’s how it’s gonna be… Shield triple threat at TLC. One of my all-time favorite matches from the last few years was TLC 2012 when The Shield took on Team Hell No and Ryback. That was amazing and it was amazing because of Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose. Those three in a TLC match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship would be incredible. Since it would be the first time Reigns would have the opportunity to get Ambrose in the ring, they’ll end up taking each other out with Rollins once again retaining his title.

That takes us to the Royal Rumble on January 24th, 2016. As the feud builds on RAW, Reigns will once again earn himself a title shot against Rollins. Because Ambrose inserted himself into the title picture and proved worthy of the position, The Authority wants Reigns to earn his title shot one more time. Since Ambrose missed his opportunity to get his singles title match, he’ll move on and be a participant in the Royal Rumble. At this point I fully expect Reigns to be a white hot baby face and the fans won’t be mad when he wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Rollins. The slow burn is the key to getting Reigns over with the crowd this time around. Of course there will be haters, but I see the majority being OK with him winning the title here.

By this point we’ll already have Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent and it will be former Shield brother, Dean Ambrose. Heel Ambrose wins the Royal Rumble earning his singles match against Reigns at The Grand Daddy of Them All. How does he win it? It’ll be Brock Lesnar and Ambrose as the final two. Brock will manhandle Ambrose for a bit, giving him a free trip to Suplex City but then, “If You Smell What the Rock Is Cooking” will hit the speakers, distracting Lesnar causing Ambrose to eliminate him. There you have it… Lesnar vs The Rock and Ambrose vs Reigns at WrestleMania Texas.

So what happens with Rollins? He’ll use his rematch clause at Fastlane on February 21st where he’ll lose to the dismay of Triple H. Rollins was handpicked by The Authority and losing the title to Reigns was not an option. With the title out of The Authority’s hands, Triple H takes Rollins out, setting the stage for their match at WrestleMania. Not only do we get a match with teacher vs pupil but we get a baby face turn for Seth Rollins. I fully expect Rollins to be an amazing baby face.

[adinserter block=”2″]On to WrestleMania where we have Triple H vs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns. Triple H will do what he does best and put Rollins over big time. Then, in the main event, Roman Reigns will get his WrestleMania moment by going over Ambrose to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

So let’s review – Ambrose turns on Reigns at Survivor Series helping Rollins retain his title. It will be Reigns vs Rollins vs Ambrose in a TLC match where Rollins retains again. Ambrose wins the Rumble and Reigns defeats Rollins to win the WWE Championship. Rollins loses his rematch at Fastlane where Triple H turns on him. Rollins defeats Triple H and Reigns beats Ambrose at WrestleMania 32.
