The DC fans were heartbroken when they got to know the revised film slate of Warner Brothers’ 2020 superhero blockbusters. Warner Bros declared that DC league and Black Adam have been delayed to being released later in 2022 but Aquaman, The Flash, and The lost Kingdom have been sent to 2023.
But among this delayed schedule, there is a piece of good news for the DC fans, the expected Shazam! has its schedule been moved forward and will be screening on December 12, 2022, instead of its prior schedule which was set as June 2023.
Shazam Fury of The Gods
With the release date of Shazam, the fans were reassured that Warner Bros have something unique to bring into light with the Shazam family film.
“We’re thrilled to bring ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ to audiences as a Christmas gift this year,” said the WB President of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein and further claimed that, “Families of all ages will really enjoy it.”
The fans cannot contain their excitement due to what Steven Weintraub said last year and how he hoped that the sequel released soon!
“I will say that I genuinely — and this is not just lip service — I’m proud of the first one, I think we made a really, really good movie. I think the second one is better. I think that we had more time, we had more budget. We had, essentially, the entire cast returning, and we all knew our characters a little bit more; we could kind of sit into them a little bit more. Henry Gayden, who wrote the first script, wrote the second, and he did a fantastic job doing so. Everything just clicked even a little bit more and a little bit more. And also the kids have grown up a little bit more, so even the sensibilities of them become even slightly more mature which brings it closer to my or other people’s adult minds, so there’s even more connection there, I think. The action’s great, the comedy’s great, the relationships are great. The bad guys, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu are fantastic. I’m very proud of it. I want it to come out sooner than June of 2023.”
What Lies Ahead for the Shazam Franchise?
The director’s job will be performed yet again by David F. Sandberg. We also witness the return of the writer Henry Gayden giving fans more news to keep them thrilled.
To make the fans guess and intrigued a short behind-the-scenes snippet got featured at the DCFanDome in 2021, this revealed the “Realm of Gods” and how the sequel will be focused on a fight against the evil gods.
When it comes to the cast members we also see that Zachary Levi and Asher Angel also returned to the sets as the extraordinary superhero and the human equal of Shazam.
The new member added to this cast is Rachel Zegler whose role is yet to be made public and has kept the fans mysterious.
As we are nine months far from the release date of Shazam, we can anticipate a trailer and poster soon !!
We are well aware hoe December release resulted to be magical for Aquaman we hope that Shazam The Fury of Gods has the same fate !!
