The Ridiculous WWE Complaints Leveled at Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are on my TV all the time now. I honestly do not have much of a problem with this; mostly due to the nature of WWE’s top storyline. The fact is that the Authority’s presence on WWE programming is very necessary right now.

[adinserter block=”1″]But some fans are having a problem with it. Big time.

One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard is that there’s entirely too much talking going on now. Hunter and his blushing bride take up a lot of space and a lot of time when they hit the air. Their spots tend to go on longer than some typically do and as a result of this, some fans are currently pulling their hair out.

And to that I say shut up. Shut your mouth.

Apart from just wanting to insert a random Stepbrothers line, there is a reason for my frustration here. Again, this angle dictates that WWE’s power couple be on TV more than usual and that they have an ample amount of mic time. That is just the way it is and for anyone out there who’s complaining about it, I only have one question.

What do you think this is, World Wide Wrestling?

This is not the NWA, people. Monday Night Raw does not feature several matches, cutting only for a handful of promos and interviews. This is not old school pro wrestling.

This is WWE and in Vince McMahon’s company, pro wrestling broadcasts are more about the entirety of the presentation. They use more than one method to tell a story and that includes long promos in the ring, some of which seem to last longer than they should. And on any given night, those promos can come from any member of the McMahon family. It’s their company, after all.

What, did you just start watching?

The other point that some fans make who have quite frankly had enough of Hunter and Stephanie, is that the company is doing nothing but burying Daniel Bryan.

God how I hate that word.

Now, I’m not suggesting that this does not happen in the business. And I’m not suggesting that it’s not happening on some level in WWE. But for me to believe that Daniel is being buried right before our eyes? Are you kidding?

This guy is on TV constantly. He is currently the hottest Superstar in the entire company. His pop right now is nearly untouchable and competes only with CM Punk most of the time. He is booked in high profile main event matches on pay-per-view, wrestling for the company’s top championship. WWE’s main storyline is centered on him as every week brings a new chapter in the angle that can only be called “Daniel Bryan versus the world.”

Yeah, he’s being buried. Sure.

As I prepare to stand on my literary soapbox here, let me say that my intention is not to silence anyone. As fans, we have the right to air our grievances about the product wherever and whenever we see fit. Despite how many believe otherwise or how unpopular it may be to some on the inside to admit, we are the paying customers. We are the ones who ultimately determine the overall success of WWE or any other wrestling company for that matter.

But I have become so completely disgusted with the viewpoint that some fans have and that viewpoint typically consists of a handful of talking points that are regurgitated nearly everyday.

The term “burying” is perhaps the most infamous of these talking points and it just does not apply here. For me, to bury someone suggests that you’re doing all you can to keep that person off TV and out of any credible storylines that could showcase his talents and draw a following for him. After all, a guy can’t get over if fans never see him and if he’s not on display then he has no chance.

Does Daniel Bryan lose? Yes. So do a lot of other Superstars. Has he been screwed out of the WWE Championship since SummerSlam when this whole storyline began? Yes. He’s not the first Superstar that’s happened to.

Is WWE burying him? No. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

Don’t misunderstand me here; my goal is not defend WWE from all attacks. I’m not on the company payroll and let’s face it; one good review from me is not going to impact them one way or the other. But for me, it just does not make a lot of sense to sit back and rip on WWE every chance I get. This especially includes ripping on the McMahon family, who are each playing roles on TV.

I’m not going to get ticked off at actors.

I for one would rather wait and see how all of this is going to play out. Because when it’s all said and done, we may not be looking at Triple H and Stephanie McMahon as a constant presence on WWE programming. Once this angle ends, it could become just one of them. Or they could be replaced by Vince. Or Linda. Or Shane. Or all of them together.

  1. OK im here to post about how storyilne or not scripted or not Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are Not bad for business they are down right horrible for business and both need to be fired right now but we all know that wont happen because for some stupid reason no one in that company scripted or not can tell the Narcissists Who stand in that ring week after week and try to make then selves feel better at EVERYBODY else's expence. Oh but i'm not done yet the WWE WILL 1000% go out of Business in 2014 if three huge things do not happen and the first is Getting rid of the Cancer of the TVPG rating no one like it Loyal fans like me don't new fans of the wwe don't it is even roumored that on of the wwe's CURRENT Mega stars told vince to his face that the wwe is going down the Shiter and that none of the wwe superstars are happy with the direction of the company. Second fire the authority Now before the dive off the cliff happens cause it is closer than people think with these dam lopsided matches and all the other shit the authority has pulled recently the company keeps inching closer and closer to the edge of the cliff. Point number three MR tom clark needs to realize that with out us the wwe universe he and the rest of the wwe would be out of business the fans make the company not you not the board of directors not the Gazillionaire stock holders THE FANS OWN WWE and what would you and the rest of the company do if most of the fans boycotted the wwe and didn't watch there programming or attend there live events Because that is the direction it is heading in 2014 especially if the Authority is not fired and someone like Shane o mac is brought in a COO MARK MY WORD AND MARK THEM WELL UNLESS THESE THREE THINGS ARE TAKEN CARE OF IN 2104 WWE Will 1000% go out of business and then Impact Wrestling and other companies will be at the ready to pick up the torch that wwe dropped and believe me they will run with it.

  2. Lets see Steph fires Big Show in segment 1 and in the last segment the same Big Show comes down and punches the COO and this GOOD !!!! All this make me do as a wrestling fan is shake my head and watch something else.

  3. I see where you're coming from on Bryan not being able to get revenge, but realistically speaking he has been outnumbered this entire time. One on one he can beat any of them, from the Shield to Orton–and he has. As far as Cena coming back, I for one believe it speaks volumes about how they feel toward Bryan that John has been put in with Del Rio, not Orton. If they had so little faith in Daniel, I think they would have let Cena come in and completely clean up the Triple H mess–which I initially thought was going to be the case.

As far as name calling is concerned, you have every right to your opinion but I don't know how constructive that is. Leading with an insult typically causes me to ignore and move on, but I chose to answer you. I would appreciate the same civility in return.

  4. you're a complete idiot man. They're not burring Bryan I agree, but they totally killed his momentum, not by letting Orton win at SS, but by not letting him get any kind of revenge for months on its to the point where the fans see that Creative doesn't believe in him and its killed some of his popularity, now with Cena coming back, and Punk still 1A, Bryan is back down to number 3

    • 'Killed his momentum'?! They're building him up to be the hottest thing in the past god knows how many years. He hasnt got his revenge yet because when he does it's going to be that much sweeter for him and every one of his fans. YOU are the complete idiot. YOU are the type of fan who wants things to happen right away and then complains about there being no long, solid storylines. You're another internet moron who knows nothing about the business and goes along with the other biased and ignorant IWC fans who completely ruin something we all used to enjoy.
