The CW Has Canceled Legends of Tomorrow After 7 Seasons

It’s indeed a sad Saturday for all the DC fans as the famous American Television Series “Legends of Tomorrow” has been canceled by the CW itself. The TV series that is based on characters of DC Comic aired for a good seven seasons in 2016. The series has been renewed for seasons for the past 6 years but this won’t be the case any longer.

All the fans and viewers of the series have been utterly disappointed with this news, as they should be. The “Legends of Tomorrow” has been an entertaining piece of work with an 80% on rotten tomatoes and 6.8 on IMDB. Its cancellation is indeed a loss to many people including the viewers as they will no longer be able to watch their favorite actors in their favorite shows.

The news broke in when Keto Shimizu, the co-showrunner and executive producer made a tweet regarding the same. She tweeted “So, there you have it, guys. It’s been a fantastic run. However, the CW has informed us that Season 8 of Legends Of Tomorrow will not be produced. We’re devastated, but we’re also appreciative for the incredible work our actors, crew, and writers put in on the little show that might.”

She further stated “You’ll always have a spot on the Waverider,” thanking the audience for their “love and enthusiasm for our unusual band of misfits.” Even the words of Keto held so many emotions that it was difficult to believe that the show is ending now with no more new season.

Not only keto but the writer’s room also expressed their grief on the show’s departure stating “”This has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all of us,” the authors wrote in a statement. “The show that wasn’t supposed to become the program that could be anything it wanted to be.”

He further said that “We visited Camelot, Salvation, Hollywood, and even Inside A Computer’s Mind, but the true goal was always home: the place where family and friends are families. We’ll miss working on this program, but most of all, we’ll miss working on it together and sharing it with you. Legends are immortal!”

Phil Klemmer, the show’s co-showrunner, recently told EW that he has enormous plans for a possible eighth season. He remarked, “I can’t talk too much about them because I haven’t pitched the studio or network. If I think about next season’s themes, the Legends have been arrested and will be required to rehabilitate themselves.

He further objected then by saying “but I think we all know they make mistakes, but they’re not doing anything bad. Most of our employees will be challenged by AI in 20 years, so [season 7] was about us trying to figure out what people do that robots can’t. I don’t know, maybe we’ll take on capitalism next season.”

This is not the first show that has been canceled by the CW. Earlier the CW has also canceled the Batwoman after its three-season got aired. The audience was really shocked by this move of the CW like it is with the cancellation of “Legends of Tomorrow”.
