10 Random WWE Facts You Didn’t Know

Here are ten random facts about the WWE in 2015 that you most likely did not know, because who looks this stuff up?

…Besides me.

  1. The Shortest Person on the Roster?

Aside from El Torito and Hornswoggle, whose heights are the defining features of their gimmicks, who is the shortest WWE performer on the roster? The answer is actually Alexa Bliss. Bliss stands at 155cm or just under five foot one. Despite her height, Bliss is one of the best heels in NXT and even goes by the catchphrase, “small but fierce”. Even WWE announcer JoJo is taller than her by two centimetres. As far as the men go, masked sensation Kalisto, standing at 167cm, is the shortest.

  1. 29%????

Seth Rollins carried the WWE for most of 2015 until blowing out his knee at a house show in Dublin; but did you know that from his 176 matches in 2015, Seth actually only won 51 of them? That is a measly 29% winning record and a record that is probably a little unfair on the former champ. This record actually includes house shows and when you consider that Seth would have won quite a few of those matches, due to having to retain his title, that 51 looks even stranger. By comparison, Cesaro wrestled 185 matches in 2015 before also getting injured, but the Swiss Superman, someone who the WWE Universe believes to be underappreciated, actually had a win-loss percentage of 62% with 115 wins. It goes to show you that wins and losses don’t really mean that much in pro-wrestling.

  1. Eden the Wrestler?

Did you know that SmackDown ring announcer and queen of WWE’s Periscope channel, Eden Stiles, actually has one documented wrestling match under her belt? It came in 2011 in WWE’s old developmental system of FCW where Eden was involved in a seven Diva battle royal alongside familiar names in Aksana and Kaitlyn. She did not win the match, but hey, at least it’s forever in the history books!

  1. Boss of the Loss?

Did you know that of the nine Divas to wrestle 100 matches in 2015, (Emma, Nikki Bella, Natalya, Naomi, Paige, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley and Charlotte) Sasha Banks currently has the second worst win-loss percentage at 41%? Only Naomi sits lower with 38%. Despite having arguably the best 2015 of any other Diva on the roster and even one of the best years of any woman in the history of the WWE, Banks only received the 61 wins from 148 matches. She does, however take the crown for wrestling the MOST matches from the women’s division, with Naomi (144) and Charlotte (141) just behind her. Current NXT Women’s Champion Bayley holds the best win-loss record for Divas with more than 100 matches, sitting on 83.2% with 99 wins from 119 matches. It is certainly surprising how low Sasha is and how high Bayley is considering both of their gimmicks, but Bayley would certainly rack up the wins at NXT house-shows.

  1. Stealing YouTube?

Did you know that the most popular video on the WWE’s YouTube channel from 2015, where they upload highlights from EVERY one of their shows, is the segment where Dolph Ziggler kisses Lana? Yep, with 17.4 million views, this video eclipses everything else that the WWE uploaded in 2015 by miles, with Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker’s brawl in second place at just over 14 million. Yes ladies and gentlemen, that amazing Dolph Ziggler and Rusev feud outshined everything else, including Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker – this is why we can’t have nice things.

  1. Roman’s Year

Did you know that of the roughly 130 WWE or NXT pay-per-view matches of 2015, Roman Reigns competed in the most matches with 13? Reigns also had a winning percentage of 87.6% with 183 wins from 209 matches this year. However, the more interesting statistics come from Roman’s 19 losses (obviously this means he had seven no-contests or draws as well). As far as clean, pinfall losses in singles matches come, you have to go back to February 2nd 2015 where Big Show pinned Roman on an episode of Monday night Raw to find his most recent. Reigns has suffered several pinfall losses between now and then such as to Seth Rollins on a few occasions, Bray Wyatt at Battleground and Sheamus at Survivor Series, but those were via some sort of shenanigans or another. Strangely, his career PPV win-loss record is only 55.88%.

  1. Besting the Beard

Daniel Bryan wrestled 58 matches in 2015, winning 51 of them. Of his seven losses, five came in singles action with Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler and Bray Wyatt being the only three wrestlers to pin Bryan in a singles match this year. If Bryan is forced to retire, Dolph Ziggler will go down as the final man to pin the former champion clean, which he did on three occasions before WrestleMania. Roman also defeated Bryan clean at Fast Lane while Bray’s victory involved interference from Kane. If you’re wondering, his other two losses were to Sheamus by count out and Big Show by disqualification. I’m sure you can now sleep easier knowing that information.

    1. All Red Next to Nothing?

Did you know that the longest singles match in Eva Marie’s wrestling career sits at six minutes and 45 seconds? That match was her recent NXT Women’s Championship Match against Bayley where the champ retained despite some dodgy referee business, which, by the way, probably filled up about a third of the match time. Her previous best comes from Monday night Raw where she defeated Summer Rae in exactly three minutes. I’m sure it was an excellent match.

  1. More YouTube Fun Facts

Did you know that the most popular video EVER uploaded by the WWE is a 41-man battle royal from Smackdown in 2013? The video has an insane 35.4 million views and if you’re wondering, the battle royal ended in disqualification when Cody Rhodes, who had already been eliminated, came back and attacked Randy Orton who was battling it out with the only other man left in the match, Mark Henry. It is truly worthy of being on top of the mountain. John Cena and Randy Orton battling the entire Raw roster sits in second place with 33 million and The Undertaker returning to confront Lesnar before WrestleMania 30 sits in third place. The highest viewed real match from 2015 actually comes from only a few weeks ago with Roman Reigns and Sheamus’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match drawing a little over six million views already. It is also worth mentioning that there are two videos that feature Divas kissing Hornswoggle that have over seven million views, Vince you horrible, horrible man.

  1. One Win Band

Did you know, and I still struggle to believe this, that in 2015, Heath Slater registered ONE WIN. Across television and house shows, Heath Slater was defeated in 127 of his 128 matches this year. His one victory came against Adam Rose on the 25th of May on an edition of WWE Superstars. The icing on the cake here is that the WWE Universe recently voted Slater into the number eight position for the Superstar of the Year Slammy showing that the one man band still has some popularity… or that he knows how to tweet 100 times more than any other superstar and simple maths got him into the top ten, either way, one win from 128 matches is mindboggling.

Note: Unless otherwise specified, win-loss records include house shows and live events.
