Super Mario Bros. Movie Release Date, Voice Cast, Trailer and More

The most awaited computer-based movie Super Mario is all set to release and be available to the public at large. The animated film produced by illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures is directed by Nintendo, the creator of all the famous animated movies. The rumors of Super Mario getting released have been airing since the last year but have finally become a reality.

The news broke in when the video game company Nintendo took to its official Instagram account to reveal the news. The handle posted a cover poster of the movie and revealed all the essential matrixes of the upcoming movie in the caption. So let us look at the release date, plot, cast, and other concomitant features of the movie.

Super Mario Bros. Release Date

Universal Pictures currently plans to release the movie first in the United States followed by other countries. Super Mario movie was all set to release on 21st December 2022 in the USA. But illumination’s upcoming ‘Super Mario Bros.’ film starring Chris Pratt has been delayed to April 28, 2023, in Japan and April 7, 2023, in North America.

The Voice Cast of Super Mario 2023

The same was also revealed by the video game company Nintendo only and hence the cast is more or less confirmed. Further, it is also assumed that because the cast has been officially announced no subtraction must be done by the directors unless special circumstances arise.

The stars include Mario, played by Chris Pratt whereas Princess Peach is played by Anya Taylor-Joy. Further, Luigi is played by Charlie Day, Bowser by Jack Black and Toad is played by Keegan-Michael Key, and Donkey Kong is played by Seth Rogen.

Cranky Kong is played by Fred Armisen and Kevin Kamek is played by Michael Richardson.
Foreman Spike is played by Sebastian Maniscalco and Charles Martinet, Mario’s current voice actor, will also appear in “different cameos.” His precise function is uncertain.

While the casting is unexpected, what’s perhaps more startling is how the lineup hints the Mario film could dive into the franchise’s past. In the Wrecking Crew series, for example, Spike is considered Mario’s boss. Most people who tuned in to see Mario’s Nintendo Direct reveal had no idea he wasn’t his own boss.

Alternatively, the film could finally reveal that Cranky Kong was Mario’s initial nemesis in Donkey Kong, back when Mario was still known as Jumpman.

Is there any official Trailer yet?

As of now, no official trailer has been released for the movie by the team. The only preview one can get off the upcoming movie is the poster released and some here and their snippet of the artists shooting or visiting each other. Apart from this, no official trailer has been released. But a trailer would probably be released anytime soon as the release date of the movie is in this year only.
