Stephen Curry splashes through another NBA record
It has been that kind of season for Steph, everything he shoots seems to go inside the basket. Tonight was an example of another phenomenal performance by the player who changed the game.
The previous few seasons weren’t kind for the Warriors as the team was plagued by injury. But now all of their stars are on their way back and Curry is primed up. The point guard is in the MVP race and he will be eyeing another title with the Warriors.
Today was just a pure example of the unlimited range that Stephen Curry possesses.
Stephen Sets 3 pointer Record in NBA All-Star Game
The format of the All-Star Game has changed a lot. Earlier it used to be like a regular match and players used to go hard at each other. In this new format, there is a target score and the level of defense is very casual in the first 2-To 3 quarters.
However, that does not take one bit of credit away from Stephen Curry who splashed 16 three-pointers in the All-Star game for Team Lebron. If you watched the match it was one hell of an experience for you. But if you didn’t, here are some highlights for you to enjoy!
Curry made 16 three-pointers in the All-Star game today which has now become a new record. The record for the most threes in a normal game is 14 made 3’s by Curry’s Splash Brother Klay Thompson. However, that record is safe since the All-Star is not considered a normal game.
The funny part is Steph was making shots from the 37-feet and 35-feet like they were layups. He’s shooting for the game was 17 out of 30 at 56.7% while he was 16 out of 27 on three-point shots.
He has now become just the 2nd player to score 50 points in the All-Star game along with Anthony Davis. Curry also became the first player to win the inaugural Kobe Bryant MVP trophy given to the All-Star MVP.
Lebron James’s take on Curry’s performance
“This guy is from a different planet. He literally has an automatic sniper connected to his arm, and when he lets it go, not only himself but everybody on the floor, in the stands, on TV, on their phones, whatever you are watching on, you think it’s going in every time,” James said. “Nine times out of 10 and sometimes 10 times out of 10, it does go in.”
To be out there and watch that kid from Akron as well shoot the ball the way he shot, it was unbelievable,” James said. “It was pretty cool.”
It was definitely cool and with Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and James Wiseman set to return, the Warriors will be a menace for any team in the NBA. The Lakers aren’t doing that well in the season and Lebron may choose to move in the summer.
Lebron James will be a free agent next season and the Cleveland Cavaliers are performing fantastically well this year. A return for the King is not completely out of the question as Lebron himself said that it is still an option for him.
