Check out these cool backstage videos of Shawn Michaels’ WWE Hall of Fame diary. A crew caught Ric Flair & Vince McMahon making emotional presentations to Shawn Michaels, HBK getting an autograph, and a “sweet” reunion. Big props to HBK for allowing fans to take an inside look at his special night.
The first video is probably something most wrestling fans never expected to see this year. Ric Flair is back and presents Shawn Michaels with a special gift. The Nature Boy presented HBK with a gorgeous belt buckle in the locker room as the two shared an emotional embrace. The video is significant as Ric Flair is currently under a TNA Wrestling contract yet is openly attending a WWE televised event, although this video was shot backstage.
[adinserter block=”2″]The second video features the Chairman of the Board himself Vince McMahon presenting Shawn Michaels with his official 2011 WWE Hall of Fame ring. Say what you will about Vinnie Mac but there is no denying the love and affection he has for his former WWE champion. Vince can barely hold it together as he is overcome with raw emotion during the presentation. The video shows a very rare side of Vince McMahon and one quite honestly, he probably would prefer to keep under wraps.
It really is a shame when you watch this and see how seriously some of these guys take the ceremony that you have a story popping up this week about the WWE wanting to remove all references to the name “wrestling” from its brand. For some guys like Drew Carey and Pete Rose it may be great publicity but for greats like Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels it means the world.
Another cool video in the set shows a reunion of the Clique between Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, and Triple H. Scott Hall passed on going to WrestleMania 27 citing his continued battle with addiction and felt that the environment may have been too toxic for him.
[adinserter block=”1″]say what you want about TNA Wrestling but it is rather classy of them to allow Flair to attend the event. If you have heard interviews with Flair the WWE Hall of Fame means the world to him. Quite honestly it may mean more to him than anyone else that was ever inducted. Whether it was a clause in his contract or something he had to fight for, Dixie Carter could have said no and she didn’t. Then again, Ric Flair has been called the “Teflon Man” in TNA.
These are some really fun videos and kudos to Shawn Michaels for making it happen. For the first time in several years WWE.com is not streaming the Hall of Fame ceremony. Shawn Michaels’ flip cam videos are the closest fans will get to tonight’s ceremony and arguably the closest anyone has ever gotten behind the scenes of this historic event.
As for the picture, if there was ever a time for a “create a caption” Camel Clutch Blog contest it sure is now.
