Shawn Michaels Says WWE Boss Is Big On Daniel Bryan

I always find it funny when someone makes a cryptic statement and then gets angry when fans try to decode what he or she was saying. Shawn Michaels is the latest and he wants you to know that Vince McMahon likes Daniel Bryan and stop bothering him.

The Heartbreak Kid recently gave an interview to the Ministry of Slam where he told a story about going to bat for a wrestler that Vince McMahon was not confident would draw money. Dave Meltzer (who ironically can also get testy when fans try and decode his cryptic statements) on a Wrestling Observer podcast guessed that Michaels was talking about Daniel Bryan as did a lot of fans and Shawn isn’t happy about it.

Here is exactly what Shawn said to the Ministry of Slam which started this story last week.

I had a conversation a couple of weeks ago with the man in charge and we were talking about a certain individual and he goes, “I just don’t see money in him.” And I said, “You said the same thing about me.” He said, “I did not.” I said, “Yes you did!” (laughs) I said, “And it’s okay. It’s just one of those things.”

The statement comes at a time where Daniel Bryan is on the verge of breaking through as a main-event star amidst rumored doubts from the office. Considering the fact that Michaels trained Bryan, likes Bryan, and the timing of the quote, I don’t know if there is a logical choice besides Bryan. Meltzer and others ran with this and Michaels is not happy.

Apparently Michaels got bombarded on his Twitter account with questions about this statement. Michaels, obviously agitated, finally addressed the interview on Twitter over the weekend and he says, “NO!” D. B. was not the wrestler he was referring to in the interview and would like you to leave him alone.

“@WWF_WCW_Fan. That isn’t even who we were talking about. He’s big on DB. Shame y’all let those folks work you like that. #thinkforyourself

RT:”@BScott12492: Who exactly was the guy in question during you & Vince’s convo?” — I would have said if I thought relevant. Not DB tho.

@yourboymikeyp. No, the guy is actually 6’3 250, ironically, y’all miss the same point he did. Amusing since everyone’s knocking him.”

“@Abbottude. Well, I didn’t measure or weigh him, it’s a guess. Therefore, in their eyes I am a LIAR!!!:-)”

“@joderjoderjoder. UGH!! Respectfully, this is why I rarely talk wrestling, no one takes the fun out of it faster. #letitgo”

Shawn wrapped up his rare wrestling chat by letting everyone know that the Heartbreak Kid was not having a whole lot of fun.

“Before too many folks make this whole twitter thing absolutely no fun, I hope y’all have a wonderful evening!! Night all!! :-)”

Shawn Michaels has over 1 million followers on Twitter. I am sure that most of those followers are following him to find out more information on his latest duck hunt. The man gives an interview, makes a cryptic statement, puts himself out on Twitter, and then is upset that anyone on Twitter would dare ask him about it? Give me a break.

Was Michaels talking about Bryan? There is a part of me that still thinks he may have been and is now trying to take a little pressure off of Bryan as well as protect a trusted conversation with Vince McMahon. Was he talking about Antonio Cesaro? The build certainly sounds a lot like Cesaro. Was Michaels talking about someone else completely and just throwing fans off with the height and weight?

Who knows and we’ll never know because Shawn doesn’t want to talk about it anymore and how dare you ask him!
