Seth Rollins Talks Shawn Michaels WWE Dream Match and More

AJ Styles recently made headlines when he went with social proposing a potential dream match between himself and Shawn Michaels. Well it looks like the line of WWE superstars waiting to get into the ring with Shawn Michaels just got a little longer.

Former WWE champion Seth Rollins is the latest to talk openly about a potential dream match against the Heartbreak Kid. Rollins was recently asked about Styles’ recent challenge to Michaels and officially added his name to the short list of potential Michaels’ opponents.

If he’s ever coming out of retirement it better be at WrestleMania. Kudos to AJ for giving it a shot but he can take a backseat. I would like that match before he gets his hands on Shawn. A lot of people would pay good money to see Shawn and AJ.

“Me and AJ might have to fight it out. Winner gets Shawn.

According to Rollins, the match is a natural since Rollins patterned his in-ring style after Michaels.

I would never compare myself to him, but like a Shawn Michaels, a guy who can do everything. I’ve always prided myself on doing different types of matches with different opponents.

The idea of these dream matches against Shawn Michaels is cute but it is nothing more than social media fodder. Michaels has said numerous times that he has zero interest in returning to the ring, although I am sure the WWE would love to have him. Talking about the match will make some headlines (like here) but at the end of the day there is nothing to it.

At some point you have to wonder if Vince McMahon will send down some kind of mandate on speaking about wrestling Michaels. McMahon reportedly blew his lid last year when Steve Austin and Paul Heyman teased a Lesnar-Austin match. McMahon was livid that they’d promote a match that he had no chance of delivering. I have to wonder if the same will be said to anyone talking about wrestling Michaels.

Rollins also talked to the Sun UK about missing WrestleMania and the difficulties in being around the event without having the opportunity to get inside of the ring.

It was AJ’s first WrestleMania and to see Roman Reigns in the main event against Triple H was cool, but man, it was just tough to be around that day. I did not want to be in Dallas.

“To come back in Orlando, my dream scenario is just to have a match at WrestleMania again. Missing last year was easily the worst part of the injury, for sure. It just crushed me.

That shouldn’t be a problem in Orlando as Rollins is expected to have a huge part in the upcoming WrestleMania 33 event.
