Seth Rollins Talks AJ Styles in WWE, Sting’s Injury, Embarrassing Moments, and Pressures

Seth Rollins

WWE champion Seth Rollins got up early this morning to promote the RAW event in Dallas, Texas on Monday night. Rollins stopped by the 105.3 The Fan Dallas/Ft. Worth to talk about a variety of topics which ranged from wrestling AJ styles in the WWE, the fallout from his match with Sting at Night of Champions, and a couple of embarrassing moments

[adinserter block=”1″]On the pressures of being WWE world champion these day – “There is an extra amount of pressure because you want to put the fans in the building. This is my WrestleMania tonight, this is my RAW so I want to sell it out. I think that’s the kind of pressure that gets to a performer at this level. There’s a lot of pressure for everyone to succeed and everyone looks at you to be that example. How much effort are we going to put in, how much work are we going to put in. The pressure of being a top-level athlete is something I don’t think that people understand about it.”

On whether he talked to Sting following their match at Night of Champions – Yes, he and I had a conversation after the match, it wasn’t like he was completely out of it he just had a little bit of a scary situation. You have to hand it to the guy. Sting is 56 years old. That’s incredible. I’m 29 so the fact that he was able to get in there and do the things he did for that match and stuff, it was really a testament to how good of shape he’s kept himself in over the years and stuff like that. And you know it’s not ballet. We don’t get in there and dance around. It’s physical, he pulled no punches, and he wanted to go all of the way, balls to the wall. We got to talk a little bit after, he’s doing very well now. He’s hanging out in Dallas recuperating and stuff so it is really good to hear from him. He actually had some really kind words to say about me as well and I appreciate that coming from someone who I looked up to quite a bit when I was younger.

On Whether he’d enjoy seeing AJ Styles get a shot at NXT and hopefully the main roster – “Oh sure, there’s tons of guys out there who have worked really hard for a long time. I don’t talk to AJ on the regular but I think he’s doing pretty alright with the New Japan Bullet Club and Ring of Honor. He’s made a great career for himself doing his thing, AJ is someone I’d love to work with at this stage in both of our careers I think we’re both pretty much at the top of our games so it’d be cool. You never know.”

A couple of years ago with the Shield when we were coming down to do an entrance at the beginning of the show and Daniel Bryan was in the ring and we were just looking just mean, just tough, just coming down, getting over that railing, because you know we come down through the crowd at the time and I did a little thing where I used to hop over the barrier and for whatever reason it just wasn’t stabilized. When I put my hand on it to go over I kicked the edge of it and I tripped and I literally just ate it, right on the floor right in front. It was on live TV, there was nothing you could do about it, and we got back to what we were doing but that is just the kind of stuff that happens. I had another one in promo where I stumbled over some words but I don’t remember what it was and I literally (makes inaudible noises), like I couldn’t get the words out, it was some sort of tongue twister that really screwed me up. It’s live TV, stuff happens, that’s part of the fun of it.”
