The WWE office is likely very tense thanks to a barrage of social media posts showing pictures and video of its world champion suffering a major injury. Early word however is that the champ may have dodged a bullet.
Social media exploded with video and pictures Wednesday of Seth Rollins injuring his knee during a No Holds Barred Match with Kane. The match headlined the European tour on the Dublin, Ireland stop and it didn’t take long for Rollins’ fans to panic. Yet early reports indicate that Rollins is likely okay.
[adinserter block=”2″]As seen on video, Rollins was power bombing Kane out of the corner when his right knee buckled. A table was set up as seen in the video in which Kane was to be power bombed through it. Rollins went down and clutched his knee. Rollins finished the match but had to be carried back to the dressing room.
It’s a good sign that Rollins was able to finish the match, yet a not so good sign that he had to be carried out. PWInsider.com reports that Rollins tweaked his knee and while the severity is still TBD, it appears that Rollins won’t need much more than some extra tape on his knee. F4WOnline.com doesn’t have any reports other than the speculation being that if Rollins finished the match it isn’t that severe.
The WWE may have avoided a big problem here as the company is already down John Cena and Randy Orton. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that losing Rollins would hurt business on a week that RAW did an 18-year low rating, but it would certainly hurt the storylines and whatever plans they had for Roman Reigns at Survivor Series.
Check back later for more details when they become available.
