RVD Wins the TNA World Title, Begging the Question…WHY?

TNA Rob Van Dam First off, congratulations are in order for Rob Van Dam on capturing the TNA World Championship. Rob Van Dam is a tremendous competitor & I’m not trying to take anything away from him in this article.

The question I pose to all of you is why. Why in the world would TNA give away a first time ever match in RVD vs. AJ Styles FOR FREE? Why would TNA give away RVD vs. AJ Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship…FOR FREE? Why TNA? More importantly, why am I questioning the brain trust in charge of TNA? And why do it on TNA Impact? To capitalize on the WWE Raw roster being stuck in Europe? What does that really accomplish?

Why not build a program leading to the Sacrifice PAY PER VIEW event in May with the main event being TNA World Champion AJ Styles vs. Rob Van Dam? First time ever match…for the World Championship…ON PAY PER VIEW!!! To me, it seems much more feasible to go for a high PAY PER VIEW BUYRATE as opposed to a high TV rating against Raw!!! I don’t get it!!! I don’t care if every other match on the card was crap…I would have actually dropped $40 if that match was on the PAY PER VIEW!!! TV ratings don’t equal money; pay per view buys = revenue!!!

TNA Wrestling dropped the ball when they did RVD vs. Sting (ANOTHER first time match on FREE TV). TNA dropped the ball tonight by giving away a first ever meeting between two of the most talented wrestlers in the world for their World Championship for free. What could TNA possibly do that would entice fans to buy the next pay per view event?

Am I making sense or am I just rambling?
