This may be the most obvious WWE blog you read all week yet it needs to be said. He’s paid his dues, he’s waited patiently, and his time is now. Roman Reigns must win Money in the Bank 2015!
The writing team can be a fickle bunch. There are times when the crew will pull off the obvious such as Reigns winning the Royal Rumble and there are others where they will shake it up for the sake of shaking it up. This is not a time to get cute. There should be one objective right now and that is putting Reigns over and setting up for the run he should have had.
Even if you aren’t a Reigns fan, who else do you go with here? Randy Orton would send the crowd into a riot. I am an Orton fan but fans are tired of seeing him in the top storylines. Sheamus is intriguing although it doesn’t seem like the time is right. Speaking of timing as much as I love Dolph Ziggler’s work his time has passed. Kane? Really? I could make an argument for Neville and he certainly fits the prototype of a MITB winner but at the end of the day the choice is Reigns.
The rehabilitation of Reigns doesn’t end at Money in the Bank. This also isn’t the time for a slow simmer until WrestleMania. Not only does Reigns need to win, he needs to cash in between now and SummerSlam. I can’t fathom the idea of turning Reigns heel but boy his character certainly appears that he will be turning on his buddy Dean Ambrose shortly. Maybe he turns on Brock Lesnar after Lesnar beats Rollins for the title? Anything can happen at this point.
I don’t know how it happens but the company needs to refocus on Reigns and it all begins on Sunday. I also don’t know whether or not he’s the answer but there is only one way to find out. Hopefully we find out sooner than much later.
