Rick Pitino Wants To Coach The Nets

Rick Pitino Rick Pitino wants to be the next coach of the New Jersey Nets, but for whatever reason the team is not happy with that prospect.

Why not? They should be happy that people still know who the hell they even are!

According to the New York Daily News, The Nets have drawn up a short list of candidates, starting with former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy. But sources say Pitino is not on the list and likely will not be included in a search.

Van Gundy would be cool, but Pitino brings drama and scandal. The Nets need all the press (good, bad or indifferent) they can get!

But maybe they are scared off by his NBA resume. His last gig coaching the Boston Celtics was dismal, never making the playoffs in three seasons and getting canned halfway through his fourth.

But it’s not like interm coach Kiki Vandeweghe is doing much better. The Nets are seriously challenging the Sixers’ all-time mark for most losses in a season.

It looks like Xanadu isn’t the only tragedy of the Meadowlands!
