Reds, Brewers Go Head-To-Head In Cincinnati

Mike Leake (4-2, 5.10) returned to the rotation with a win in a 5-1 victory in AtlantaThose checking out Belmont odds will be looking for the horse with the best stamina for the longest of the Triple Crown races, and in baseball, wagering players are also settling in for a marathon of a race in the National League Central, which figures to be one of the toughest in all of baseball. On Wednesday, Cincinnati will host Milwaukee in the finale of a three-game set.

Brewers Reds Betting – Wednesday, 7:10 PM ET

Shaun Marcum (6-2, 2.80) picked up his second loss of the season as the Brewers fell 5-4 at home to San Francisco, allowing five runs on six hits over six innings, along with five strikeouts and a pair of walks. If you’re betting on MLB baseball, you don’t need to worry about Marcum, who is making a smooth transition from the American League, and you can chalk this up to a poor outing. The 29-year-old righty would be out to avenge a loss against the Reds in his first start of the season, as he lasted just 4.2 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits with seven strikeouts and five walks in a 4-2 loss on the road.

Mike Leake (4-2, 5.10) returned to the rotation with a win in a 5-1 victory in Atlanta, giving up a run on seven hits over six innings, while registering three walks and a pair of strikeouts. The 23-year-old was demoted after a seven–run outing against Houston, but due to injuries, he gets another chance to prove his worth. He has faced the Brewers just once, back on April 26th, and it may have been his best start of the season as Leake gave up a pair of solo homers over seven innings with six strikeouts to take a no-decision in a 3-2 loss in Milwaukee.

The line in your pay per head sportsbook will be close for this game as Leake is a young pitcher who has been bounced around this season, while Marcum has been solid for the most part, so don’t be surprised to see the Brewers favored on the road.

These two are slated to do battle with St. Louis at the top of the Central, but they came into this series at opposite ends of the spectrum as the Brewers had won eight of their previous 10 games, while the Reds had dropped eight of their last 10. The Brewers are really starting to come together as a team and show why many picked them to leapfrog past the Reds and Cardinals in the division, and Marcum will get back to his winning ways on Wednesday night. Take Milwaukee in your sports betting picks.
