Lanny Poffo, the brother of the late “Macho Man” Randy Savage told a television station in Florida that his family now knows the cause of Savage’s tragic death. The cause of death is not official, but Poffo’s explanation certainly makes a lot of sense.
Poffo said about the findings, “What it means to me is, it was a beautiful way to die. It’s quick, painless.”
I did a little research and found this interesting tidbit about the condition on a health related website. “Most people with VF have no history of heart disease. However, many have risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as smoking, high blood pressure, and diabetes.”
Poffo also called Savage’s wife a “hero.” Poffo describes in the interview how his sister-in-law grabbed the wheel and pulled Savage’s vehicle out of the way of an oncoming motorcycle. It is almost scary to think about how this accident would have turned out if Savage was driving alone.
For those of you who don’t know the details of Savage’s tragic car accident, here is what I wrote in my original blog about the report.
“TMZ reports…According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Savage was driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he “veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.” His wife Lynn was a passenger but survived with “minor injuries”. According to officials, both were wearing their seatbelts at the time. Police confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.”
