Paige Receives 2nd WWE Wellness Policy Violation, Suspended 60 Days

Nope, this is not a reprint of an old story. WWE superstar Paige has gotten suspended AGAIN from the WWE. The latest Wellness Policy violation comes with a 60 day vacation and a lot of questions surrounding her once promising future.

WWE.com released a statement on Monday afternoon confirming the news. “WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 60 days effective immediately, for her second violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

Paige was quick to address the suspension on Twitter, “Same sh*t different day. Kids. Please don’t get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable. Rules apply depending on your status.

The news comes at a very interesting time as Paige was reported to be involved in a stabbing incident a week ago with Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio claimed he was attacked with a knife during a road rage incident with multiple reports putting Paige at the scene. Paige was also spotted signing autographs with Del Rio at a show in Mexico, which is apparently a no-no under WWE rules if a ring is up.

Paige’s father posted a lengthy explanation on his Facebook page citing a prescription for pain killers due to injuries…

she has not failed a drugs test.

My daughter has had a long term neck injury which imo has not been dealt with. i have ask my daughter to return to UK For help with this injury as help and direction in the USA Has not been forthcoming imo. She has been in pain and out of in ring action for a fair while now and has been prescribed pain killers which apparently is against the wellness program. i feel my daughter has been let down big time in the USA and the proper care and advice needed in the position she has been in has not happened to say i am pissed off with the situation is an understatement, this is my statement i am not open to questions thank you for your cooperation.

Paige received a policy violation almost two months ago. She has been traveling with Del Rio since. At one point there was a report floating around that Paige had gotten a lawyer and was negotiating a full release from her WWE contract. Paige went on social media to shoot those rumors down, although one would think that where there is smoke there is fire.

I have read a lot of takes on this in the last few hours so I’ll add mine to the list. I am purely speculating here but what if Paige is intentionally violating the policy to get fired? I think it’s fair to presume that she and the WWE are not on good terms right now. If Paige intentionally fails more drug tests I would have to guess that the WWE would be forced to release her which is potentially what she is aiming for.

The problem is that once she’s released, she has few options. She can work independents and I am sure her and Alberto could score a TNA deal, but she won’t make anywhere close to what she was making in the WWE. That said, I do think her and Alberto together, unfiltered could be one of the hottest acts in the business if a company had enough resources to score them both.

Maybe this turns into an AJ Lee situation where she marries Alberto and retires? Knowing her story and the passion she and her family have had for the business her entire life, it is very hard to imagine that she’d throw all of this away yet that is what it appears she is doing. Regardless of how this turns out, I have to believe that there is a lot more to come in the coming weeks if not sooner.
