NBA Betting – Magic Looking To End Slide

Dwight HowardWhile the main focus this weekend has been the NFL betting, there’s no need for a case of the Mondays because the NBA is there for support. The main dish will be the Monday Night Football game between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers, but there are some good NBA games on tap tonight.

The sportsbook has the Orlando Magic as a big favorite on Monday night as they try to work out of their slump. The Magic have lost two straight and will try to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season as the Indiana Pacers visit. Meanwhile, the Pacers will be trying to win three straight for the first time in nearly a month.

The Pacers success has been a surprise as they are without leader scorer and All-Star, Danny Granger. Even so, the Pacers have been able to register two straight wins over the New Jersey Nets and Washington Wizards.

The Magic are one of the elite teams in the NBA while the Pacers are not. While both teams have been heading in opposite direction over their last two games, expect the Magic to get back on track on Monday night.

Indiana Pacers @ Orlando Magic
Sports Betting Odds: Magic -12

As mentioned, the Pacers have won two straight, but you have to look at the caliber of opponent they defeated. Their first win came against the New Jersey Nets, who are the worst team in the NBA. Their second win was a last-second triumph in Washington against the Wizards, who are also among the worst teams in the East.

Meanwhile, the Magic’s two losses have come against two of the better teams around. The Magic lost on the road in Utah and on the road in Phoenix, two teams who are playoff contenders in the Western Conference.

In this specific matchup, the Pacers have struggled in Orlando. The Magic have won three straight and five of their last six against Orlando.

Magic All-Star Dwight Howard will look for a bounce-back effort after a surprisingly poor performance against Phoenix.

Howard tied a career-low on Friday night with just one field goal attempt in 41 minutes worth of action. Against the Pacers, he will surely be more active.

The Magic should get back on track rather easily against the Pacers. Look for a big double-digit win.
