More WWE Hell In A Cell 2012 Predictions and Preview

[adinserter block=”2″]Well, here we are again with another B-level PPV from WWE. This one is Hell In A Cell which on October 28, 2012, will be emanating from Atlanta, Georgia. Honestly, thanks to poor booking, and lackluster storylines, I have very little interest in this show. WWE had to put a fairly new character in Ryback in a position to help carry a PPV main event with WWE Champion CM Punk due to John Cena needing elbow surgery. The rest of the card is fairly pedestrian.

However, it is my duty as a writer for Camelclutchblog to give my predictions for Sunday’s show, so let’s do it.

Triple Threat for the Diva’s Title: Eve (C) vs Layla vs Kaitlyn

I am starting with the Divas as I really have no interest. I mean, Beth Phoenix is reportedly finishing up with the company. Natalya is not being used much. The storyline here is pretty simplistic. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Eve’s little plot was going to be discovered. I guess as Layla didn’t get much of a rematch, she had to be thrown in the match also.

Prediction: Too bad “I don’t care.” is not a proper answer. I’ll say Kaitlyn gets her revenge, and wins the title.

Randy Orton vs Alberto Del Rio

This feud has been pretty boring. Why are they fighting each other? Is Del Rio trying to prove he can beat Orton? I really am not into this feud at all.

In my opinion, Del Rio has really lost a lot of steam since his debut. I really thought WWE had something in him. Every time Del Rio was going to be champion, plans changed. I never understood what the deal was. Were the WWE officials not completely behind Del Rio? Now, he is pretty much a mid-carder.

Perhaps Randy Orton will be used to help put Del Rio over to build Del Rio back up. At this point in Orton’s career, as he is a veteran, he can start putting over some people. There has to be future stars for WWE to promote. I don’t think it hurts an established star like Orton to put over guys. After all, there were veterans who put Orton over when he was a young guy.

Prediction: Del Rio takes this with his arm breaker move.

Intercontinental Title: Kofi Kingston (C) vs The Miz

This feud has been a bit odd. I loved the skit with Larry King. I thought that was pretty fun. However, here is where the bad booking comes in. Kofi defeated the Miz for the title on “Main Event.” Miz has vowed to get it back. Well, what does WWE do to the Miz on the go home Raw? Miz gets devoured by Ryback. How on earth are fans supposed to take Miz seriously as a challenger to Kingston on the PPV when Miz is getting his rear end handed to him by the monstrous Ryback? It does not make sense, and WWE can not complain if fans are not into the Miz.

Prediction: Kingston retains.

WWE Tag Team Titles: Team Hell No (Kane/Daniel Bryan) (C) vs Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes/Damien Sandow)

Well, I have to hand it off to Kane and Daniel Bryan. They were handed material that I thought was goofy, and made it brilliant. I never thought anger management would be turned into such a great angle. These two pulled it off. I love how these two are tag team that fight with each other. Who else could have pulled off the “Hug it out.” stipulation? The pair going back and forth yelling, “I’m the tag team champion.” at each other is just gold.” I am very pleased that Daniel, in particular, has gotten over with the fans.

However, will their arguing cost them their titles?

On the other hand, their opponents Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow are going to try to win the tag belts by not only out-wrestling Team Hell No, but by out-smarting them by using their intellect. Sandow is growing on me. I am starting to like his gimmick, especially since he uses the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s “Messiah” as his entrance music. I think he is a pretty good worker as well. Cody Rhodes is a very good worker as well. I liked that WWE put Cody and Damien together.

This should be a pretty good match, if you consider all involved.

Prediction: I don’t think it is time to change the belts just yet, so I think Team Hell No retain.

World Title: Sheamus (C) vs The Big Show

This match is a huge example of why WWE has to do better in building new stars. The Big Show is WAY past his prime, both as a wrestler AND as a top challenger for the top titles. Unfortunately, WWE has not built up anyone who is a credible challenger to Sheamus. I mean, there is not much to discuss concerning this match. These two guys just argued about who is stronger than the other. Yawn.

Prediction: Sheamus retains. This match is a no brainer.

Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Title: CM Punk (C) vs Ryback

As I alluded to earlier in the blog, Ryback was put in the position of trying to carry this main event, because Cena needed surgery. Ryback is not anywhere NEAR ready to be in this position. WWE is just starting to get this guy over. Unfortunately, besides Cena, there is no one else that is in a position to challenge CM Punk.

CM Punk has been gold. He really has been amazing throughout his time with the WWE title which he has held for over 330 days. From promos to matches, Punk has been money. I love the pairing with Paul Heyman, one of my favorite promo men. I am a “Heyman gal.”

That being said, CM Punk better bring his carrying shoes. I have no idea how Punk is going to get a good match out of Ryback, but I am sure he will try. This match should NOT be in a Cell. You do not want either guy to lose. If Ryback loses, he loses the “monster aura.” If Punk loses, he loses the “I’m the champion for 330-odd days.” gimmick. It will be interesting to see what the outcome is.

[adinserter block=”1″]Prediction: Well, this is kind of predictable, but I see Vickie Guerrero or maybe Vince putting John Cena into the match, and making it a 3-way. After all, Cena announced on Raw he was cleared to wrestle. Guerrero makes those impromptu matches on the PPV where Cena has to wrestle some guy, and if Cena wins, he can participate in the Hell In A Cell match. Somehow, Cena gets into the match.

CM Punk retains by pinning Cena in a screwy way.

Well, that is how I see the PPV playing out. We will see on Sunday.
