Last Minute Madden 2010 Deals

Madden 2010 coverMadden 2010 hits the stores this Friday, starting at midnight in some places. Several stores are capitalizing on the hype with some great pre-order deals. There is still time left to take advantage of these great Madden specials. You are going to buy Madden 10 anyway, so why not benefit from one of these great deals?

The tradeoff with some of these deals is that you may have to wait a week to get your game. Sure, you can pay extra shipping but that just defeats the purpose of a deal. Most of these deals are good until 11:59 PM/EST Thursday night. Several even give you the opportunity to order online and pick up your game at the stroke of midnight.

Sports Illustrated is in on the Madden 2010 hype this year. SI has a great deal for new subscribers. Sports Illustrated will give you a free Madden 2010 game and NFL Films Madden Documentary DVD with a new subscription. The cost of the entire deal is $49, which is actually a few bucks less than what you would pay for a brand new Madden 2010 game.

The catch here is that you need to be aware that the subscription automatically renews. If you don’t pay attention, you could be stuck with a lengthy and pricy Sports Illustrated package here. If you can remember to make sure you cancel the sub before renewing, this is probably the best deal on the market. Even if you don’t like Sports Illustrated, you are still getting the game below market value.

Walmart is great for pre-order video game deals. Once again Walmart offers a nice package for pre-ordering Madden 2010. Walmart offers a $10 gift card with all purchases. Beware though, that the deal does not allow you to walk into Walmart on August 13 and pick up your Madden. You will have to wait a few days. Who can’t find something to spend a free $10 on Walmart?

Amazon has a similar Walmart deal for pre-ordering Madden 2010. Amazon will also give you a free $10 gift card. Unlike Walmart, Amazon offers free shipping but keep in mind that this does not apply to overnight or expedited shipping. If you don’t want to pay for shipping, I’d take this one over the Walmart option.

Game Stop and EB games has their own Madden 2010 pre-order deal. This probably the less juicy of any of the deals at this point. The deal offers you a free demo download to play the Super Bowl game in Madden 2010 with either team. This was great in July, but it means very little 24 hours before Maddenoliday. The only benefit here is that unlike any of the above games, you can pick up your game at midnight for no extra fees. I have pre-ordered through Game Stop and it is a nice feeling to walk to the front of the line on release day and grab your copy with no hassles or much waiting.

Click here to order your game at Game Stop or EB Games and guarantee your copy on Thursday.

Toys R Us offers free shipping and handling at this point in time on Madden 2010 pre-orders.

Finally, Micro Center has a great discounted deal on Madden 2010. Why be forced to take your discount in gift cards when you can just take $10 off the game immediately? Micro Center is offering Madden 2010 for a whopping $29.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. The only catch here is that I have never heard of a Micro Center. If you have one near you, you definitely want to take advantage of this deal. All you need is a $5 deposit and you are guaranteed the game for pickup at a super discount.
