The Bryan Danielson shocking release from the WWE has left many fans including this one right with wondering whether or this in fact a “work” or a legit release from the company. Many wrestling sources on the web are reporting that this is legit and that everyone in the company has been notified as such. Reports have even gone as far at Bryan Danielson beginning to receive independent bookings in the near future. I was sold on this story no longer being a work until I recently read a report straight from (of all things) the twitter page of WWE Champion John Cena.
The face of the WWE took to his social networking site to publically go to bat for Bryan Danielson on returning to the WWE immediately. Something that has given the internet fans for the first time since his days of rapping promos, something to cheer about when it comes to John Cena. Something that also adds fuel to the fire of whether or not this is a work or shoot release from the WWE.
Cena has a ton of backstage “swagger” in the WWE to make movements in the company. Many reports of the last year have given Cena the kudos onto why the WWE has shifted over to a PG rating. Combine that with a Senate run from Linda McMahon and you have to take the report that Cena had a hand in changing the WWE product back to a kid friendly show to be true. Now fans have to wonder if the power of the face of the WWE can have an eventual hand in bring back “The American Dragon” to the WWE.
For those of you who haven’t see Cena’s twitter posts regarding the release and hopefully return of Bryan Danielson here are a couple of his tweets:
“I am very upset to hear about the release of bryan danielson. Social networks were formed so people would have a voice, and an opinon. I Know you all have your own, theories and whatnot. I respect that. I have never asked any of you to feel a certaint way about me. But Bryan left a lasting impression on the wwe universe in a very short time, and although it came at my expense, I agree with the majority of you who are caught off guard by this choice.
[adinserter block=”1″]I know I’m not exactly appreciated by all, nor do I care to be, but I believe what I believe. I would like bryan to come back to the wwe.
I would like to sign your petition to bring him back. I was taught to stand up for what I beileve in. I tried and failed, so I could Use some help. Tell me how to sign and I will. If for nothing else, to at least have a chance to have a match with him after what was done
I know that seems a bit more fair. Give me a chance to have a fair match with him, and give him yet another chance to prove that he does” (twitter.com/wwejcena)
Very interesting to hear the face of the WWE go out publically and make comments regarding bringing back “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson to the WWE. While the comments came out as a surprise to many wrestling fans. What it did more importantly was reignite the fire of whether or not this in fact a work or a shoot of the wrestling fans.
It’s been well reported in recent weeks that the WWE is going to go down more of a “reality based” storyline on WWE television. Case in point, the NXT invasion last week at the end of Monday Night RAW those left many fans talking and also eventually lead to a firing of the highest regarded “NXT rookie” on the WWE roster in Daniel Bryan. It has also been well reported that the WWE wants their wrestlers to take to their social networking outlets and use them the further storylines on WWE programming.
Prior to these tweets from John Cena, earlier in the week he tweeted that he had a concussion and a hip injury from the NXT attack on him at the end or RAW. Chris Jericho also used twitter to further the storyline by mentioning that not a single RAW superstar came out to aid Cena and that he stood by on a monitor watching the whole thing. Once again Cena takes to his social networking site on Twitter, takes a topic that is extremely huge right now in Bryan Danielson being released and gives his two cents on the subject.
[adinserter block=”2″]Cena even went as far as signing a petition from the WWE fans to bring back Bryan Danielson to the WWE. You would have to figure if this was a shoot Cena would be in somewhat hot water with WWE management for being so vocal regarding this firing making it more believable that we may be actually witnessing a shoot with Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson being released from the WWE.
I guess we will have to come and find out whether or not this is a shoot in the next couple of days or weeks. If we see Daniel Bryan “invade” WWE television after being fired then we know it was one of the best works in the wrestling business in quite sometime. If we don’t see him over a 90 day period and he is back on the Indy circuit that we can take this as an actual shoot. Either way the subject is interesting and has fans talking. With Cena backing up bringing back Daniel Bryan it makes the story more and more compelling right now.
