New England Patriots vs. New York Jets

The New York/Boston rivalry not only transcends in Baseball but in Football as well. The Patriots/Jets rivalry is very much underrated in the NFL and has had some exciting moments the last couple of years. Times are different now with Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan in New York. But the first time these two teams play I’m going with New England in this one. Eventually I think over time the Jets will be the favorites in this series.

Prediction: New England Patriots

Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta is still the team I think will win the NFC Championship this season. Matt Ryan is developing into a true leader in Atlanta and it doesn’t hurt to have the weapons he has down south right now. Carolina has gone from a surprise team in the NFC into meltdown mode in just one week. Carolina will put a decent fight but eventually Atlanta will pull away in this one.

Prediction: Atlanta Falcons

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Green Bay Packers

Green Bay had a huge win last week on primetime against the favored Chicago Bears. In one play Aaron Rodgers may have picked up the confidence that could carry this team for the rest of the season in to what I predict will be at least a 10 win season for the Packers. The Bengals had their hearts ripped out last week by the Denver Broncos and a team with Chad Ocho Cinco on it has a tough time gaining any camaraderie or moral with that guy on your roster. Green Bay is home and should pick up the victory in this one.

Prediction: Green Bay Packers

Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

Houston looked horrible last week and made a lot of fantasy owners scratch their heads after they drafted Matt Schaub this season. Tennessee nearly beat the defending Super Bowl Champions and should continue to be a top team in the AFC. The Titans need this win more then the Texans do to prove they are a top tier AFC team, but it shouldn’t be a problem for the Titans.

Prediction: Tennessee Titans

Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions

Not really much of surprise to anyone this week that the Vikings will go 2-0. Look for the Vikings to have a similar game to last week. The more they don’t have to use Favre’s shoulder the better. Adrian Peterson should have a huge game. The Lions will win a game this season it just won’t be this game.

Prediction: Minnesota Vikings

Arizona Cardinals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Arizona looks to bounce back from last week’s lost to the 49ers and to shut the critics up about the “super bowl hangover.” Jacksonville gave a good run at Indy in Week 1 but I look for Larry Fitzgerald to have a big day against the Jags in this one. Arizona will struggle during the first part of the season as the claw for a playoff spot.

Prediction: Arizona Cardinals

New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles

If McNabb was playing this week it would be a different outcome for sure. Philly has shown they have no confidence in Kevin Kolb which is sad to see for a guy that was picked in the first round in the NFL Draft a couple years back. Kolb will be playing with a chip on his shoulder but there is no confidence better in the NFL right now like Drew Brees, after throwing 6 TDs last week he should have at least 3 TD performance. The loss of McNabb truly hurts Philly in this one.

Prediction: New Orleans Saints

Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Seriously flip a coin in this one. These once historic franchises have all of a sudden become part of the laughing stock of the league. Oakland clearly played better last week in Week 1 then Kansas City did but that was without Matt Cassell. Despite everyone liking Kansas City as a potential sleeper this season I’m going with Oakland to win this game. They are a young team and will hopefully continue their opening performance in Week 2 proving the critics wrong that they can be a decent team this season under Tom Cable.

St. Louis Rams vs. Washington Redskins

Seriously St. Louis will be lucky to win three games this season, they looked horrible last week. Washington in this one, not going to even really discuss this matchup.

Prediction: Washington Redskins

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Buffalo Bills

Both of these teams had true tests in Week 1 with Buffalo looking better against New England then Tampa did against Dallas. Buffalo is going to avenge their meltdown on Monday Night and take a victory in this one. Look for T.O. to show Buffalo why they picked him up in this one.

Prediction: Buffalo Bills

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers

I think most people would take Seattle in this one but something tells me that San Francisco is going to start strong but end weak towards season’s end. Mike Singletary is going to be a future NFL Coach of the Year; I like San Fran in this one in an NFC West matchup to go 2-0.

Prediction: San Francisco 49ers

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Chicago Bears

Wow what a difference a week makes. Going into Week 1 the Bears were favored in the NFC North with most people and Jay Cutler was becoming Chicago’s new son. But then Urlacher went down for the season, Cutler threw 4 TDs and the Bears lost on primetime television. All of a sudden “may day’s” are echoing throughout Chicago. Pittsburgh is just to strong to lose to Chicago, I like the Steelers in this one.

Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers

Baltimore Ravens vs. San Diego Chargers

San Diego did not look good against Oakland despite pulling out the Win. Had it been Baltimore on Monday night they would have been stuffed on that final drive. Flacco and Rice looked great in Week 1 and should continue to keep rolling in Week 2. By season’s end the Ravens may have one of the best offenses in the AFC.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens

Cleveland Browns vs. Denver Broncos

Denver won last week thanks to a miracle clearly. There defense looked great, their offense not so much. Cleveland is looking to be a force this season and I like the Dogg Pound in this one. Brady Quinn is a great Quarterback and should be able to click soon. If Denver does win in this one look for Josh McDaniels and Kyle Orton to get the tickertape parade this week cause no one even the fans expected a 2-0 start.

Prediction: Cleveland Browns

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas is opening up their new stadium with a bang by bringing in longtime rivals the New York Giants. The Giants barely escaped the Redskins in Week 1 but should have a turn around in Week 2. Despite having question marks still in their offense their defense is still one of, if not the best in the league. The Giants D loves driving Tony Romo crazy and the same thing should happen this week in the new stadium. The real question is how many punts will hit the big screen this week?

Prediction: New York Giants

Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins

Indy lost talented Wide Receiver Anthony Gonzalez for the next 2 to 6 weeks after Week 1’s injury. That only leaves Reggie Wayne as the true weapon for Peyton this week. Indy did not look good at all against Jacksonville and will have a bigger test against Miami this week. The Dolphins are still not getting respect in the NFL and will prove this week that they are for real.

Prediction: Miami Dolphins

2009 Record: 12-3
