Mac Mini will not be coming this year.
A new report has surfaced that claims that the new Mac Mini PC that was expected for a launch this year will not be hitting the market for now. The reason for the delay is yet to be known since the announcement of the high-end Mac mini was never made in the first place, to begin with.
Today we talk about the M2 Mac mini and M2 Pro Mac Mini devices and everything you need to know about them:
Are High-End Mac Minis Really Coming?
Apple made the announcement and introduced Mac Studio this month which is supposedly based on the Mac Mini but features more powerful hardware. Some speculations said that this might be the end for the Mac mini and no more versions will be coming however, this is not the end of the Mac Mini.
Trusted rumors have claimed that a new and redesigned version of the Mac mini is under development and will be hitting the market soon. The two new rumored versions of the Mac mini are the versions with M2 and M2 Pro chipset. Among these, the codename of the M2 has been confirmed to be J473.
Later on, Ming-Chi Kuo, a reputable Apple analyst confirmed that Apple is really planning to release a new high-end Mac mini and also a tech featuring a 27-inch external display without a mini LED display later on this year.
Currently, the Mac minis are only available with an M1 chipset and some Intel variants however it is expected that an M2 and M2 pro variant will be coming soon as well. Last week, analyst Kuo predicted the lineup for upcoming Macs for the years 2022 and 2023. However, recently he shared that the upcoming Mac Mini models have been delayed to next year.

What to Expect?
According to a report, the M2 chipset could be featured in the new 24 inch iMac, 13 inch MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini, and all these three models are rumored to be under development. The M2 chipset will succeed the M1 chipset and will offer the same 8 core CPU but the overall performance and energy efficiency will be upgraded by leaps and bounds.
The Mac Mini with the M2 chipset will supposedly receive a fresh design and will not be the same as the Mac Mini with the M1 chipset. The device will be built on a smaller chassis, a top featuring the plexiglass, and two color options for tones.
M2 chipset is based on the A15 chip while M1 is based on the A14 Bionic. M2 Mac Mini is reported to be at the final stage of completion and was expected to be released by the end of this year. But the latest rumors have now claimed that the launch will be delayed to 2023.
