Full Guitar Hero 5 Track Listing – 85 Songs

guitarhero5 After weeks of rumors and leaks, the entire Guitar Hero 5 track listing has been released. As predicted here, the set list is a big disappointment. The days of heavy music fun have been exchanged for the sweet sounds of 3 Doors Down and Dire Straits.

Recently, I wound up selling my Guitar Hero World Tour on Amazon. I just found the set list pretty boring. There are some fun songs to play in the game, but overall it was a bore fest. It was arguably the biggest disappointment for a game sequel that I can ever remember.

I got turned on to the Guitar Hero series with Legends of Rock. The game was and is still a lot of fun. It has the perfect mix of hard rock, classic rock, and heavy metal tracks. The bonus selection alone features a ton of great metal and hard rock. I was addicted the first time I strapped on the guitar.

In my opinion the reason for the drop off with Guitar Hero World Tour was the inclusion of all instruments. I think Activision really dropped the ball with this one. It just completely changes the selection of music. Instead of blistering rock anthems, the game now had to include fun sing along songs.

The best of the bunch for my liking is Guitar Hero Metallica. As an old school metal fan, the game was tailored for someone of my tastes. Guitar Hero Smash Hits is a lot better than I thought. My advice would be to dump World Tour and just pick up Smash Hits. The old covers are exchanged for licensed versions of the songs which are completely redone to provide new game play.

So here it is. The entire 85 track listing for Guitar Hero 5 is as follows;
