Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

David Garrard is a fantastic waiver wire pickup this weekAt this point in the season, the fantasy football waiver wire is about looking for a bye week fill-in or a juicy matchup during the fantasy playoff weeks. This week may not be deep in pickups, but there is a fantastic quarterback option available for one week that could cure your fantasy blues.

David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars If you own Philip Rivers this week and you need help at quarterback, David Garrard is a great one-week filler. Garrard is coming off of a bye week following his most productive game of the season in Dallas where he threw for 4 TDs and 260 yards. The Jaguars host the Houston Texans this weekend who happen to give up more points to fantasy quarterbacks than any other team in fantasy football. This is a matchup you want to exploit if you need help for one week at quarterback.

Javarris James, Indianapolis Colts There may be more waiver wire opportunities on the Colts than any other team in the NFL. As long as Peyton Manning is throwing the ball, any offensive starter is worth a look. James is not a starter but has turned into the primary goal-line back last week in Philadelphia. The regular goal-line back Mike Hart is having injury issues and could be a week to week player. If you need a boost at RB, pick up James this week. He could be a great play this week if Hart misses more time.

Jacoby Ford, Oakland Raiders – Welcome home Jacoby Ford. Jacoby Ford was just simply awesome Sunday in the Raiders OT win over the Chiefs. Ford had six catches for 148 yards and could build some great momentum in the coming weeks. Teams are sleeping on the Raiders which leaves some great opportunities open for this offense. Unfortunately a switch at QB back to Bruce Gradkowski could hurt Ford’s value but as long as Jason Campbell is in, you may want to roll with Jacoby Ford.

Mike Tolbert, San Diego Chargers – Ryan Matthews continues to disappoint and get hurt for fantasy owners. Matthews hurt his ankle this week and could miss some time in the coming weeks. This would open up the door for the big back to steal some carries and red zone opportunities. Even before Matthews’ left with injury, Tolbert has a score in five of his last six games. Coming off the bye in two weeks against the Denver Broncos at home provides a juicy matchup for the running back. With San Francisco, the Bengals, and Broncos again in the final stretch of the season, Tolbert could do some serious damage to some weak rushing defenses.

Blair White, Indianapolis Colts – Anytime you can get a Colts wide receiver you want to grab him. Austin Collie took a nasty hit Sunday and will probably miss some time, at least a week. That will open up the door for Blair White. As Jacob Tamme has shown, Peyton doesn’t care who you are, if you are open he will get you the ball. With matchups against two of the worst passing defenses in the NFL over the next two weeks, Blair White could do some good things if you need some quick wide receiver help.
