Daniel Bryan Announces WWE Royal Rumble 2015 Bid

Daniel Bryan promised to make a huge announcement on Monday Night RAW. The former WWE superstar announced his future plans, which were in doubt due to a serious injury. You can dismiss those doubts as the Yes Movement is back!

The announcement came out of nowhere. Bryan has been out of action for about seven months after suffering an arm and neck injury. Several months of unsuccessful rehabs have worried fans and supporters who feared that Bryan’s career is over. Rest easy Yes supporters, Bryan is coming back!

Bryan came out to what I thought was a bit of a disappointing reaction initially. Fans in the past have gone crazy with Yes chants and while he was certainly appreciated, it wasn’t the madness we saw at this time last year. Bryan told the audience that his career was in jeopardy and reflected on his ups and downs of 2014. Then came the announcement everyone was hoping to hear.

“Is my career over? No. I am ready to fight. I am ready to compete. Am I entering the Royal Rumble? “YES! YES!”

Bryan officially announced his comeback and his entry into the 2015 Royal Rumble. I would presume that this will be Bryan’s first match back since coming off of the D.L. This was the first big angle shot for the Rumble which will go down on January 25 in Philadelphia, PA.

Bryan’s entry into the Rumble certainly raises a lot of questions. It was presumed that Roman Reigns would be the clear favorite to win next year’s Rumble and go on to WrestleMania and defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE world title. With questions surrounding Brock’s future, I have to wonder if Bryan now throws a kink into those plans with the game plan for Mania completely re-shifting.

Could Bryan go into Mania and win the Rumble? I think it’s possible. I think it all depends upon the reaction fans give him over the next few weeks leading to the Rumble. Maybe John Cena defeats Brock, Rollins cashes in and wins, and it turns out to be Bryan vs. Rollins at Mania 31? Where this leaves Roman Reigns is a great question, although he could always still go on to wrestle and defeat Brock in a singles match and chase the title through SummerSlam.
