Cowboys, Cornhuskers Tip Off Big 12 Tourney

Marshall MosesMarch Madness betting players are gearing up for the NCAA Tournament with some Championship Week betting, and in the Big 12, Nebraska and Oklahoma State will get things started on Wednesday at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, and the Cornhuskers need to avoid a first-round flameout as it would ruin their Tournament chances.

Oklahoma State Nebraska Betting – Wednesday, 12:30 PM ET

The Cowboys (18-12, 6-10) lost five of their last seven to head into the Big 12 tournament, and they have to get the ball inside because they’re horrible at shooting the three-pointer, hitting 29.1% of their attempts from beyond the arc. Marshall Moses posts 14.7 points and 7.5 rebounds, and the senior forward may need to have the best run of his career to carry the Cowboys deep into the Big 12 tournament.

The Cowboys also don’t move the ball that well, ranking 319th in assists, and while they’re 99th in field-goal defense, they’re also one of the worst teams in the country at committing fouls. You should receive a huge sports betting bonus if you pick the Cowboys to win it all in Kansas City.

The Cornhuskers (19-11, 7-9) dropped three of their last five, but their two wins came against good teams in Texas and Missouri. Lance Jeter leads the team in scoring with 11.5 points, along with 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds, but the Cornhuskers aren’t going to get into a shootout with anyone. Instead, Nebraska is seventh in field-goal defense and 13th in points allowed, so they’re going to be in your face for 40 minutes. Also, unlike the Cowboys, the Cornhuskers don’t commit a lot of fouls.

Betting services should favor the Cornhuskers in this Big 12 contest, although the Cowboys have dominated them in recent years. Nebraska is 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five meetings with Oklahoma State, but that win came this year as the Cornhuskers beat the Cowboys 65-54 in Lincoln on February 12th. Jeter had 16 points for the Cornhuskers, while Moses put up 18 for the Cowboys, who shot only 36% from the field.

The Cornhuskers also outrebounded the Cowboys by nine, and Oklahoma State isn’t that deep up front, which gives Nebraska the advantage with Jorge Brian-Diaz, Andre Almeida and Brandon Ubel. Moses puts in work, but he can’t do it all by himself, and it doesn’t help that the Cowboys can’t shoot from outside. One thing that the Cornhuskers have to do is prove they can win outside of Lincoln as they were 16-2 SU at home this season, but 1-2 SU at neutral sites and 1-7 SU on the road. However, we think they’ll pull it out against Oklahoma State, so take Nebraska when you’re betting online on Wednesday.
