The Miz and John Cena will continue their main-event series on the next WWE pay per view. The WWE Over the Limit 2011 headliner featuring John Cena vs. The Miz in an I Quit Match was made official on WWE RAW.
I should note that the Seattle Key Arena website has since removed the actual match listing. Chances are pretty good that the WWE weren’t very happy about their main-event being leaked ahead of time and worked with the arena to rectify the error. The match became official Monday night on WWE RAW.
The match was made official on WWE RAW. The Miz won a Triple Threat Match against Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio. The match was announced by the G.M. at the beginning of RAW and headlined the show. The Miz pinned Mysterio to win the match and earn the title shot. Cena then walked on stage and told The Miz that there would be no excuses and it would be an I-Quit Match.
Cena ended the lengthy WWE championship reign of The Miz at Extreme Rules. Unlike past WWE champions who lose their title and wind up demoted to the middle of the pack, The Miz will be sticking around at the top of the cards. Recent reports indicate that WWE management love him and have told business partners that they plan to continue The Miz’s big push.
Other than Christian vs. Randy Orton in a rematch for the WWE world heavyweight title, any other match would purely be a guess at this point. I’d probably lean towards a colossal Kelly Kelly vs. Karma match, maybe another Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus match, and Kofi Kingston or Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth. The WWE is expected to make the top matches official in the next 48 hours.
Update: The match was made official on Monday’s RAW.
