The appearance comes after a weekend of heavy rumors about Brock returning to the UFC. In hindsight I have to wonder if those rumors were planted to get Brock’s name back in the news a few days before his return to RAW. I find it hard to believe that the Brock rumors and the planned WWE return coming days apart were just coincidence.
Now this wasn’t really much of a surprise to fans who follow results and spoilers on the Internet. With New Years Eve coming on a Tuesday, Friday Night SmackDown was taped a few days earlier. There was a segment on the show that referred to Lesnar’s attack on Mark Henry. Wait, so you mean to tell me this was scripted?
The big announcement was Brock declaring himself the number one contender for the WWE world championship. Brock does not feel the need to enter the Royal Rumble and believes that he is up next for the John Cena vs. Randy Orton winner. Lesnar asked if anyone had a problem with it and apparently Mark Henry did.
Early indications are that Lesnar will wrestle at the Rumble. One report indicates that Lesnar is scheduled to wrestle The Big Show at the Rumble. Other reporters feel that Lesnar could actually wind up wrestling Big E. Langston. Neither match does anything for me and is a waste of Lesnar in my opinion. One idea I have seen floated around is that Lesnar actually winds up in the Rumble as does Undertaker with an angle to set up the Mania match.
Regardless here is Brock doing what he does best which is taking people out and stealing the show on the final RAW of 2013.
