Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho Have Reported Confrontation After WWE SummerSlam 2016

One of the strangest stories took place outside of the ring at WWE SummerSlam 2016. According to reports there was a heated confrontation between Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho in which Jericho challenged Lesnar to hit him or kiss him before broken up by Triple H and Vince McMahon.

This is one weird story. Dave Meltzer broke the story wide open on Monday of a reported confrontation between Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho. According to Meltzer’s story, Jericho was upset over what he perceived to be Lesnar taking liberties with Randy Orton. Lesnar overheard Jericho’s comments shortly after walking back from the ring and all hell broke loose…baby!

According to Meltzer, Lesnar overheard Jericho telling Michael Hayes “that’s bullsh*t”, thinking that Lesnar was taking liberties with Orton. Lesnar overheard that comment and it went down from there.

Lesnar thought he was talking about his match, and called Jericho a pu#sy according to one version, or “shut up” according to another, and to mind his own business. The two got face-to-face and started exchanging words, with one version saying they were shouting at each other the whole time.

Lesnar pushed Jericho with his fingers, and Jericho did what was described as the “Rousey-Tate” foreheed press. One version also had Jericho shoving Lesnar to the wall at one point.
They got tangled up against the wall and Lesnar told Jericho to punch him or kiss him. Paul “HHH” Levesque jumped in quickly and broke it up.

The report also states that Vince McMahon stepped in to break things up and was upset at Jericho. Jericho started complaining to Vince about Lesnar but was told by McMahon that it was all a work and to be professional. Triple H reportedly told Vince that Brock started it and Jericho was just standing up for himself. The report also goes on to say that Orton told Jericho it was planned ahead of time and Jericho quickly burst into tears and screamed, “It’s still real to me!” While Orton did reassure Jericho it was planned, the rest is my poor attempt at humor.

I don’t even know what to make of this whole thing. It boggles my mind that Jericho and several others that I know who are very smart to the business thought that the finish was anything more than a work. I thought it was very obvious that it was a work and while everyone loves to paint this picture of the maniacal Brock Lesnar, anyone that has ever spoken about him has said that he is very easy to work with and professional.

Defending himself or not, I would not be surprised if Jericho faced some kind of punishment. Jericho has been around the business for a long time to know better and the last thing Vince wants to do is to turn the clock back on his dressing room. Jericho is rumored to be wrapping up shortly, thus I wouldn’t be surprised if this expedited his exit.

It’s easy to point the finger at Brock Lesnar but was he really wrong? The guy is walking back into the dressing room immediately after working and likely has his adrenaline pumping through the roof. He just finished headlining SummerSlam and he thinks someone is mocking his match by calling it bullsh*t. I don’t know that he was right but I also don’t know that he was wrong either.

This is a tough situation for Vince McMahon to settle but I’d imagine at the end of the day Brock will skate without any repercussions and in this situation, I am not sure he’d deserve any.
