Brock Lesnar & Alistair Overeem Start The Trash Talking

Brock LesnarWe are still over a month away from Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem yet the hype has gotten into full swing this week. Both fighters have made predictions this week about their UFC 141 fight and if either one is correct, we are in for some hard hitting.

Alistair Overeem and Brock Lesnar will collide next month at UFC 141 in one of the most anticipated heavyweight fights of the year. It was already expected that this fight would do big business due to the intrigue of seeing these two heavy hitters square off for the first time. If this latest war of words continues from both fighters, this Dream Fight could turn into the biggest grudge match of the year.

It all started earlier this week when Alistair Overeem was a guest on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour. Overeem was asked about his upcoming fight and made quite a bold prediction.

You know what? I’m going to be bold,” said Overeem. “I’m going to kick that guy’s a#s.

Wow! Those kinds of words sent Lesnar into a rage before the Frank Mir rematch (as well as insults about Brock’s MMA skills) which resulted in a one-sided beating for a round and a half at the hands of the former UFC and WWE champion. Did Overeem awake a sleeping giant?

Coincidentally, Brock Lesnar also had some words this week about his upcoming foe. Lesnar is doing some media to promote his appearance in the WWE 12 video game. Interviewed by his former on-air pro wrestling manager Paul Heyman, Lesnar had this to say about Overeem.

I don’t have a lot to say to Alistair Overeem. Here’s a guy that is getting his chance to make his name in the UFC and unfortunately for him there’s a gatekeeper that stands in his way and that’s Brock Lesnar. And I will prove on that night that I am, once again, and will always be, the baddest dude on the planet.”

It should be noted that Helwani reported on the MMA Hour that the winner would get the next UFC heavyweight championship shot against the Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos winner. Like the stakes needed to be any higher for this war?

December 30 can’t come fast enough!
