To add to the Knives Out connection, the patriarch in this movie is played by Christopher Plummer. Though Daniel Craig has a hidden legendary 007 personality attached to most of his roles, it is a unique experience to see him solve murder mysteries differently. The movie centers around women who present themselves as both protagonists and antagonists. 

Stephanie played by Anna Kendrick is a single mother who investigates the disappearance of her friend Emily. The film is a typical noir package filled with plot twists and turns. 5. Rope 

Another mind-boggling film features similar Knives Out narrative of a wealthy family getting into crime and privileged banters. Starring John Dall and Farley Granger carrying out the philosophical exercise with the guidance of their old teacher played by James Stewart. 

To fulfill the philosophical exercise and to display an act of murder in the form of art, they strangle one of their friends and settle his body into a wooden chest in the middle of a dinner party to which they invite the victim’s father and the teacher who inspired them to carry out this hideous plan. 6. The Hound of the Baskervilles 

Playing on the similar Knives Out narrative and aesthetic form, The Hound of the Baskervilles brings out a complicated kind of nostalgia. The film is a detective novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The story is set in England and begins with a man, Mr. James Mortimer, asking Sherlock Holmes to investigate the death of his friend, Sir Charles Baskerville.

Mortimer tells Holmes that he believes that Sir Charles was killed by something supernatural. Holmes and Dr. Watson travel to Devonshire to investigate the death of Sir Charles and are told about an ancient legend about a huge black hound that haunts the Baskerville family. The Hound of the Baskervilles is available on Netflix, Prime Video, and Vudu.

7. The Brothers Bloom

The Brothers Bloom is a con-artist movie that tells the story of two brothers who are trying to make their way in the world by executing elaborate cons. In one of these cons, they meet a wealthy heiress and her father, who are looking for someone to take over their business. The film starts with the brothers meeting with an aging magician who lives in a mansion on an island off the coast of Ireland.

He is looking for someone to take over his magic act and help him retire. The brothers convince him that they are just what he needs and agree to come back in six months after they have perfected their act. They return as promised, but instead of performing magic tricks, they pull off an elaborate con where they pretend to be magicians from India. The film unfolds a lot of twists and turns to keep its promise. The Brothers Bloom is available on Netflix, Hulu, and Vudu.

8. Dial M for Murder

Dial M for Murder is a classic close room mystery featuring Ray Milland who plans to kill his wife who is having an affair. The man becomes embroiled in a murder plot when he is contacted by a criminal who asks him to kill his rich wife for money. A classic Hitchcock film with well defines crime scenes and the execution of emotions. Dial M for Murder is available on Netflix, Prime Video, and Hulu.
